Abstract: The invention relates to a tube dispensing device (10) for squeezing out the content of a tube using two pressure plates (12, 13), which are disposed transverse to each other at the pressure sections (15, 16) thereof, at least in the case of a lack of a tube to be squeezed, wherein a base (11) is provided, from which the pressure sections (15, 16) protrude. In this manner the tube may be stored standing up, and may be completely emptied.

Abstract: In a method or filling paste tubes and apparatus therefor, the ointment is filled into a plastic skirt designed for once-only use and then introduced into the tube by means of this plastic skirt. During the filling of the ointment into the tube, a part of the plastic skirt not moistened by the ointment is made to cover the inner parts of the bottom end of the tube, so that these parts are protected against being moistened by the ointment. The method and apparatus may be used for the manual filling of tubes with a pasty mass, especially when making up prescriptions.

Abstract: Liquid dye preparations useful for making color ribbons or ballpoint pen pastes contain at least one dye of the formula ##STR1## where X is hydroxyl, amino or C.sub.1 -C.sub.15 -monoalkylamino, R.sup.1 and R.sup.4 are each a carboxylate group or substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.15 -alkoxy, R.sup.2 and R.sup.5 are each hydrogen, nitro or chlorine, and R.sup.3 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.13 -alkyl, plus as solvent at least one product selected from the group consisting of benzyl alcohol, tridecanol, isotridecanol, glycol ethers, olein, dialkyl phthalates, chloroalkanes, alkanes disubstituted by phenyl, dialkylnaphthalenes and partly hydrogenated terphenyl.

Abstract: A method of treating viral diseases in a human subject is disclosed. The method involves applying effective amounts of the compound: ##STR1## wherein X is an azido group, a methoxy radical or a fluorine atom and B is thymine, uracil, guanine, cytosine, purine or hypoxanthine if X is methoxy or fluorine, and B is guanine, purine or hypoxanthine if X is azido or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. Also disclosed are compositions and compounds useful in the method.

Abstract: The process for producing decorative coatings on metals is primarily used in the jewelry industry, in handicrafts, and in device construction according to the invention, matte, true-to-form decorative coatings with a homogenous thickness of 3 .mu.m to 30 .mu.m are provided means of an electrochemical and plasmachemical reaction using a pulse operation in aqueous electrolytes at voltage peaks of 250 V to 750 V, pulse times of 20 .mu.s to 2 ms, pulse frequencies of 35 Hz to 300 Hz, pulse currents from 20 A to 120 A, electrolyte temperatures between 318 K and 360 K, and average current densities from 0.1 A cm.sup.-2 to 1 A cm.sup.-2.

Abstract: A lift-off adhesively erasable typewriter ribbon contains, in a pigmentatious layer on the substrate strip, in addition to the pigment and a resin binder, a halogenated hydrocarbon modifier containing at least 14 carbon atoms serving to embrittle the resin binder and facilitate transfer of the layer from the ribbon to the paper during the writing process and to allow clean and adhesive removal of print if a correction is required.

Abstract: A folding apparatus for rotary roller printing presses, having at least one collecting or crosswise folder, positioned behind which there is at least one sword folder composed of a folding sword interacting with a pair of folding cylinders, the folded material being conveyed to the sword folder via a belt guide having upper and lower belts and, in the region of the folding sword, passing positioned limit stops for the folded material. The belt guide has at least two strands positioned one behind the other and being driven at opposingly stepped speeds, with the faster-running strand on the collecting or crosswise folder side, having a run-out groove opening wedge-shapedly, beyond which least one locating stop moving at the speed of the slower-running strand, on the sword folder side, is positioned, its path at least partly overlapping with the feeding-in region of the equally fast belt guide strand.

Abstract: Folding device for roller rotating printing presses for folding a prefolded pack of sheets which is fed by a pair of endless conveyor belts underneath a folding knife in parallel direction of its feeding movement wherein at the arriving end and on both sides of the folding knife, a finger is moved into the feeding path of the pack of sheets so as to engage an advancing front edge of the pack of sheets. The finger is forcibly moved into rotation by a shaft which runs laterally beneath the endless conveyor belts whereby the rotation moves the finger in a working cycle above the lower plane of the endless conveyor belts and the finger runs slowly in direction of the feeding motion, but more slowly than the same.

Abstract: A pressure-sensitive copying material consisting of a sheet-like base to which has been applied a coating comprising microcapsules containing dyes. The microcapsules are filled with a solution or suspension of a salt of a dye base and an organic carboxylic acid in an organic water-immiscible solvent. The copying material is distinguished by exceptional non-smudging characteristics and is particularly suitable for the production of business forms.
