  • Patent number: 6522961
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and device for determining the driving condition of a vehicle, especially in the event of failure or absence of a speed sensor. For this purpose, the spring travels between a vehicle body and vehicle axles are continuously sampled. From the measured spring-travel values, the mean values or the sums are formed for each vehicle axle. From these mean values or sums, the number of local extrema within a predefinable observation period is determined. Thereafter, the frequency of the local extrema and thus the frequency of the vertical relative motion between vehicle body and vehicle axle are determined. The determined frequency of the local extrema is compared with a predefinable frequency threshold value, which defines a stationary condition of the vehicle, a moving condition of the vehicle being indicated if this threshold value is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 5168349
Abstract: When two color television standards prescribe the same horizontal scanning frequency but different color carrier frequencies, one of them, for example, requiring a frequency providing a one-half line offset to the horizontal scanning frequency (NTSC Standard) and the other requiring a three-quarter line offset (PAL-M Standard), each color carrier frequency being locked to the common line frequency, a modified phase locked loop circuit makes it possible to synchronize the color carrier frequencies to each other. The oscillator at the color carrier frequency of one standard has its output compared, in a phase comparison stage, with the color synchronization signal of the other standard. The output of the phase comparison stage is supplied to a sample-and-hold circuit which is sampled during the presence of that color synchronizing signal in every fourth line.

  • Patent number: 5119312
Abstract: A circuit for the surveillance of the switching state of a power transistor is constructed such that both, the voltage applied to the power transistor (1) is surveyed by way of a voltage comparator (7), as well as the voltage applied to the load (3) is surveyed by way of a further voltage comparator (8). The comparator (7) in the switched-on state and the comparator (8) in the switched-off state are activated by the input signal (U.sub.IN) of the power transistor (1). The output signals of the two comparators (7, 8) are combined to a status signal (U.sub.Stat). It is possible by way of the proposed circuit to recognize both a short circuit or, respectively, a shunt circuit of the load as well as a leakage current of the power transistor (1) and thus an interruption of the load occurs.

  • Patent number: 4698667
Abstract: To simplify the apparatus and the method steps to reestablish predetermined phase relationship of a chrominance TV signal with a reference, two chrominance derived signals of carrier frequency, respectively phase shifted by plus and minus 45.degree. with respect to the carrier frequency are obtained; chrominance derived signals, likewise phase shifted with respect to the input chrominance signal, are amplitude modulated with set voltages, and the amplitude modulated chrominance derived signals are so added that the phase position of the resulting chrominance signal will match that of the reference carrier.

  • Patent number: 4688083
Abstract: To control the amplitude of color difference signals (R-Y, B-Y), a circuit is formed by two transistors each receiving matrixed color difference signals at their emitters, the base electrodes of one of the transistors (14, 16) being connected to a source of reference voltage and the base electrodes of the other of the transistors (13, 15) being connected to a common controlled source of voltage (U.sub.G, 18) The color difference signals are then available at the collectors of the second transistors (13, 15) under controlled conditions.

  • Patent number: 4679064
Abstract: A circuit for the changeable prolongation of the (phase-) running time of an ultrasound delay line with a delay duration of somewhat less than a line duration for color television signals in the range of the color carrier frequency includes a changeable resistor which is disposed in the signal path and connected to the first input of the ultrasound delay line; a coil which is disposed between the first input of the delay line and the second input which is connected with the reference potential. The coil represents a first winding (8') of a transformer (8), whose second winding (8") is applied at one end thereof on the reference potential, and is connected through a changeable capacity (7) with the connection point of the changeable resistor (6) and an input terminal of a signal to be delayed.

  • Patent number: 4665362
Abstract: The invention relates to an analog non-contact distance sensor which includes a fixed stationary annular magnetized armature. The stationary armature member is provided with an air gap into which is disposed an element which is sensitive to a magnetic field. The moving portion is a rod-shaped magnetic core member which can be inserted into the annular armature member. Depending on the depth of insertion of the core member, the amount of diversion of the magnetic field from the air gap of the armature is controlled. Consequently, the magnetic sensing element emits an electrical signal which corresponds to the distance travelled by the movable core member.

  • Patent number: 4594571
Abstract: A multiplex cabling system for controlling electrical apparatus on motor vehicles, which consists of a central transmitter and several area transmitter-receivers, each connected to several controlled devices and/or indicators. Coupling between the central transmitter and the area units is made by a star-arranged line system which consists of a separate, two-wire connecting channel between the central transmitter and each area transmitter-receiver. To further increase the system's reliability and security, the central transmitter includes two microprocessors which are normally assigned to control a different pair of diagonally-opposite area transmitter-receivers. If one processor fails, the other unit assumes full system control.

  • Patent number: 4584487
Abstract: A component control arrangement for transit-type vehicles having a distributed plurality of vehicle components to be monitored and controlled, includes a number of function control modules, each being associated with a specific vehicle function; as for example, wheel-skid, climate-control, and verification systems. The function control modules, each communicate in a multiplex arrangement over a shared data bus and a transceiver arrangement, with a distribution unit. The distribution units have an output configuration allowing connection to a variety of vehicle operating devices including lamps, switches, solenoid valves, and electric motors. The function control modules evaluate status indications originating from the vehicle operating devices and transmitted through the distribution units and a transceiver arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4496966
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and apparatus for mixing a foreground signal and a background signal under the control of a switching signal which is derived as a function of the color of the foreground signal. In response to the switching signal selected parts of the foreground signal are desaturated while maintaining their luminance component substantially unchanged; non-corresponding parts of the background signal are suppressed. Both signals so treated are additively superimposed. This leads to a better representation of fine details in the contours of a foreground object of interest.

  • Patent number: 4456921
Abstract: Method and apparatus for comb filtering NTSC type television signals is described. The television signal is delayed by one line period, the delayed and the undelayed television signal are averaged. The resulting signal is delayed again by one line period and the delayed and the undelayed resulting signals are averaged, too. The result of the second averaging on the one hand is the luminance signal and on the other hand is subtracted by the television signal delayed by one line period. The result of such subtraction is the chrominance signal.

  • Patent number: 4410912
Abstract: To obtain an aperture correction signal with improved signal-to-noise ratio and having steep flanks with low harmonic content, the video signal is twice differentiated to obtain the second differential (C), and is also once differentiated to obtain the first differential (B), which is squared, the squared first differential and the second differential being multiplied and the product, after phase-matching by inversion, is applied as a correction signal (F), additively, in an adder (11) to the video signal (A) to form an aperture corrected output signal (G). Prior to the addition step, the video signal is time delayed to compensate for delays in the signal processing stages (4, 6, 7, 8) of the system (2).
