  • Patent number: 9082559
Abstract: A capacitive switch is comprises a sensor area and with a reference surface in which the sensor surface and the reference surface are configured to produce an electric field (E) between them. The sensor surface and the reference surface are arranged substantially in a common plane such that an electrical field (E) is formed between them with an arched line of force. A coupling surface is configured to move in a plurality of directions in space with respect to the sensor surface and reference surface. A lighting element is configured to illuminate the capacitive switch when activated. A tactile feedback device provides feedback as the capacitive switch is being actuated.

  • Patent number: 6744050
Abstract: A method and apparatus for testing a paper of value, in particular for condition testing of a bank note, are proposed wherein the bank note is subjected both to dark-field measurement and to bright-field measurement. From comparison of the measuring results of dark-field measurement and bright-field measurement one can make a clear statement about whether a flaw, for example a hole, tear, etc., is present in the bank note in the tested area. The bright-field and dark-field measuring devices can be formed separately with one LED array and detector array in each case. However, preferred embodiments provide for either a common LED array with two detectors or two LED arrays with a common detector. If two LED arrays are used, the dark-field radiation source is preferably formed as an IR light source and the bright-field radiation source as a red-light radiation source in order to permit authenticity testing of the paper of value to be performed as well as condition testing thereof. • Patent number: 6472670
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for checking the state of an apparatus for testing sheet material having at least one illumination device, transparent measuring window and detector. For ascertaining the soiling of a measuring window according to the invention the latter is irradiated with UV light by an illumination device, the UV light transmitted through the measuring window being filtered by a UV filter such that only a small fraction passes the filter and reaches a detector. Said fraction of UV light transmitted through the filter is detected and evaluated for determining the degree of soiling of the measuring window.

  • Patent number: 6407964
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for testing sheet material, in particular bank notes, comprising a device for transporting the sheet material in a defined direction, at least one transducer pair with a transmitter which exposes the sheet material to soundwaves and a receiver which detects the sound fraction transmitted through the sheet material, transmitter and receiver being disposed obliquely to each other with respect to the transport plane. The inventive apparatus is characterized in that the soundwaves emitted by a transducer are passed into a transport channel in which the sheet material to be tested is moved during irradiation, the sound fraction reflected by the sheet material being limited in its propagation by the transport channel such that said sound fraction cannot reach the receiver during irradiation of the sheet material.

  • Patent number: 4334056
Abstract: Polyamide powder coating compositions for the coating of metals at high temperatures are obtained by the precipitation method from polyamides having at least 10 aliphatically bound carbon atoms per carbonamide group, copolyamides having at least 70% of these polyamides and mixtures of homopolyamides and copolyamides having at least 70% of these polyamides.A. For the preparation of powder coating compositions useful in the fluidized bed coating method the polyamides with 10 or more carbon atoms and having a relative viscosity between 1.4 and 1.8 are added to at least twice the amount by weight of ethanol and while the mixture is being mechanically mixed in a closed vessel is converted into a solution at temperatures between 130.degree. and 150.degree. C. This solution is adjusted to a precipitation temperature of between 100.degree. and 125.degree. Abstract: A process for preparing coating powders based on polylaurolactam for the vitrification coating process beginning with polylaurolactam granulates obtained by polymerizing laurolactam under internal pressure in the presence of 2 to 10% by wt. of water and 0.3 to 0.7% by wt. of phosphoric acid at temperatures between 265.degree. and 300.degree. C., in the absence of chain stabilizers, and which have a relative viscosity of between 1.50 and 1.80. After precooling to temperatures between -50.degree. and 0.degree. C., the granulates are ground and then graded. Extraction with methanol or ethanol is carried out prior to grinding or grading. Pigments are added to the monomerous laurolactam or to the polylaurolactam in the molten state prior to granulation.
