  • Publication number: 20070180701
Abstract: A pipe cutter comprising a cutterhead defining a mouth for engaging a pipe to be cut. The cutterhead frame defines an elongated pin-guiding channel. A pin is carried by the cutterhead frame and movable along the pin-guiding channel, carrying, a blade movably connected thereabout. A pin-removal outlet is provided on the cutterhead frame A spring is provided to bias the blade towards a first direction along the elongated pin-guiding channel to force the blade to extend into the cutterhead mouth. A releasable plug is installed on the cutterhead frame, and selectively obstructs the pin-removal outlet for preventing free egress of the pin out of the cutterhead pin-guiding channel through the pin-removal outlet. The plug can be selectively released to allow egress of the pin out of the pin-guiding channel through the pin-removal outlet to release and allow removal of the blade from the cutterhead frame.

  • Patent number: 6260447
Abstract: An elongated hollow handle forms a circular thru opening at one end. An annular ratchet gear is rotatably mounted within the handle and exposed in this opening and is adapted to carry a tool such as a die nut releasably secured within the gear and exposed thru opening. A double acting swivel pawl is centrally pivoted within the hollow handle and has two spaced pawl projections equally spaced from the pivot axis of the swivel pawl. A. transversely movable slider has opposite push buttons alternately protruding from the sides of the hollow handle; this slider has a spring bias plunger adapted to engage alternately opposite notches made in the rocker member on each side of its pivot axis. Therefore, a simple push on the protruding push button will change the direction in which the gear is rotated when swinging the handle back and forth. The gear has knurled exposed surfaces to enable manual grasping of the gear to brake its rotation during ratcheting.

  • Patent number: 5619769
Abstract: The paint roller bearing support assembly is for use with a paint roller. The roller bearing support assembly comprises a tubular sleeve, defining a generally cylindrical main body circumscribing an inner cylindrical channel, with the channel sized for through-engagement by the shaft in friction-fit interlock fashion. A cylindrical end cap roller is also provided, defining a cylindrical outer wall member, sized to fit within the cylindrical paint roller in friction fit fashion, and a cylindrical inner wall, for surrounding said shaft. A pair of closely spaced annular ribs are provided radially outwardly from the sleeve, wherein the annular cavity formed therebetween is releasably engaged by a flange depending radially inwardly from the end cap roller inner wall. Hence, axial displacement of the bearing relative to the shaft is prevented. This support assembly is thus adaptable to paint rollers of different lengths.

  • Patent number: 5272782
Abstract: The tool of the invention includes an integral body having a flat scraper part, a collar part, and a comb part. The tool body is made from a resilient, yet substantially rigid material. The scraper part is to be used as a trowel by a painter. The collar part is used in axially engaging a cylindrical paint roller soaked with paint, to frictionally remove paint from the paint roller as the collar part is displaced from one end to the opposite end of that paint roller. The comb part is used to clean the bristles of a paint brush, by transversely engaging same and lengthwisely sliding or "combing" the bristles to remove paint after the paint job is completed.

  • Patent number: 5185938
Abstract: An attachment securable to the chuck of a hand-held power drill and adapted to clamp either a paint brush or a paint roller, so as to spin the same for cleaning by centrifugal force. The attachment is made of three separate parts, namely: a jaw unit, a sleeve and a cap nut, the latter provided with a spindle for insertion into the power tool chuck. The jaw unit includes a screw portion threaded within the cap nut and having a cylindrical extension in turn extended by a pair of spring jaws for receiving therebetween and clamping the narrower portion of a paint brush handle adjacent the brush bristles. A sleeve surrounds the arms of the two jaws and its opposite ends engage the cap nut and conical wedging surfaces of the jaw heads. Rotation of the cap nut with respect to the jaw unit causes axial movement of the sleeve which in turn causes retraction of the jaw to clamp the brush handle. The outer surface of the sleeve has paint roller clamping ribs to hold a paint roller around the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5099577
Abstract: A tube cutter consisting of two frame portions or jaws, being pivoted to one another at their end portions, and further interconnected at their intermediate poritons by a large bolt through which the jaws will move relative to one another about their common pivot. The free end of one jaw carries anvil rollers, and the other jaw free end carries a discoid knife, the anvil roller and knife cooperating in tangentially cutting a tube extending transversely between the jaws free ends. The knife is freely caried by a jaw axle, which is itself freely releasably engaged through the jaw. A spring-loaded band within the knife containing jaw casing frictionally yet releasably locks the knife axle, and thus the knife, in position, by engaging a diametrally smaller portion of the knife axle.

  • Patent number: 4897968
Abstract: An inflatable grinding roller is disclosed which comprises an elastic sleeve tightly fitted over a hollow cylindrical support of which the center is concave so that the sleeve and support together define an inflatable air chamber. The concave section further has a bore section having a radial shoulder at its center so that angular corners are formed, which house packing rings. The ends of the sleeves are inturned over the ends of the support and clamped in position by skirts of a pair of cup-like plugs of which the flat bottoms have axial glands pressing the packing rings against the radial shoulder of the angular corners. A mandrel snuggly fits in the glands, the packing rings and the radial shoulder. It is blocked at one end against the bottom of one of the plugs while the other plug is forced against the first plug by a clamping mechanism. The mandrel has a blind bore communicating with the air chamber by passages through the mandrel, the randial shoulder and the bore section of the concave section.
