  • Patent number: 5815883
Abstract: The problem with suction lines on vacuum cleaners is that the connected vacuum hose must be lifted during when the suction pipe is rotated. To eliminate this problem, the invention teaches that an elbow is interposed between the suction pipe and the suction hose which is mounted by means of a rotating knuckle, as a result of which the suction hose can be adjusted as required, and the suction pipe can be ergonomically manipulated by means of an angled gripping area of the handle.

  • Patent number: 5687450
Abstract: On floor cleaning machines, and on vacuum cleaners in particular, there is a protective bumper to provide protection for the machine against impacts and to protect furniture and other objects. The bumper extends along at least a portion of a side wall in the circumferential direction of the protective bumper. The protective bumper is provided with a supporting body which is made of an elastic material or an elastically compressible material, and is provided in the vicinity of its dimension, or side, facing away from the side wall with a cover which is made of a flexible material. The protective bumper provides a large exhaust surface area, which large exhaust surface area is used for the discharge of the exhaust air. As a result of the exhaust of the air over a large area, the invention achieves both a good reduction of acoustical emissions and a good filtering action.

  • Patent number: 5255410
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner generally has a working head which is positioned on the floor surface when the machine is in use. The working head of a vacuum cleaner essentially includes a rotating brush, a suction blower and a motor for operating both the brush and the blower. In addition, this working head also generally requires a spacing device, such as a wheel for guiding the brush head or suction brush head and controlling its proper spacing in relation to the floor.

  • Patent number: 5228169
Abstract: A brush type vacuum cleaner having a filter housing and a suction, or brush-suction, head. The filter housing is pivotally connected to the brush-suction head by a rigid guide element or rigid connector that includes two air channels for channelling air between the filter housing and the brush-suction head. The air channels include openings for connection to the suction blower of the vacuum cleaner and the vacuum mouthpiece of the brush-suction head.

  • Patent number: 5056175
Abstract: In a floor cleaning machine with a driven brush roller, the invention specifies that the height of the brush roller can be adjusted automatically as a function of the torque. For this purpose, between the drive and the brush roller, a spring, which is tuned to the torque for the working phase, is employed as a coupling element. When deviations from the specified torque occur, actuating signals for an automatic height adjustment of the wheel are produced, until the specified torque of the brush roller is re-established.

  • Patent number: 5028245
Abstract: The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner having a removable or pivoting cover on the housing of the vacuum cleaner to hold a filter bag. In the cover, there is a sliding, adjustable guide element which holds a filter bag reinforcement plate having a filler opening. When the guide element is adjusted by an activating element, the reinforcement plate is locked with the cover by appropriate elements, and is engaged with its filler opening over a corresponding filler tube on the housing, so that the cover can be locked in the housing by the reinforcement plate.

  • Patent number: 4955106
Abstract: This invention relates to upright vacuum cleaners which have a detachable hand-held vacuum hose as an ascending line. The hand-held vacuum hose is coupled to a hand-held vacuum tube which serves as an extension. The hand-held vacuum tube is thereby designed as a storage housing for the telescoping hand-held vacuum hose.
