  • Publication number: 20050058751
Abstract: The invention is directed to a process for treating meat to achieve higher yield, without negatively affecting the appearance of the meat. The process comprises the steps of 1) treating the meat, preferably by injection, with a higher pH phosphate solution having a pH of above pH 6.0 and 2) after treating the meat with the higher pH phosphate solution, contacting the meat, preferably by dipping or spraying, with a lower pH solution of preferably less than about pH 5.6.

  • Patent number: 5329712
Abstract: A picture frame has a plastic rear wall wherein a bearing member is mounted so as to be pivotable about an axis orthogonal to the rear wall between a first and a second end position spaced by 90.degree.. A prop is hinged to the bearing member so as to be unfoldable from a recess of the rear wall into a first spread-apart position when the bearing member assumes the first end position and into a second spread-apart position when the bearing member is in its other end position. In either spread-apart position, the prop defines a different angle with the rear wall, said angles being determined by stops on the rear wall cooperating with stops on the prop.

  • Patent number: 4945843
Abstract: A workpiece alignment device for sewing machines for aligning a workpiece fold edge, such as a shirt buttonhole strip. A ruler stop is provided positioned on a sewing machine work surface. An alignment finger is provided connected to a double action cylinder for movement of the finger between a first position and a second position as the flat alignment finger is guided by a guide plate having guide sections extending upwardly such that the flat alignment finger connected to a bow-shaped hook may be moved upwardly and away from the guide ruler and away from the workpiece and downwardly toward the workpiece and guide ruler to engage the folded section to move the folded section into alignment with the ruler stop.

  • Patent number: 4901526
Abstract: A bottom unit for the combustion chamber of a liquid-fueled rocket including a bottom plate held on a swivel bearing and having circumferentially distributed openings for the injection of the two fuel components as well as two separate groups of supply passages which are connected to these fuel injection openings. The swivel bearing consists of a rigid thrust plate and a rigid hanger plate which are held and joined together by an internally situated, first annular body of rubber elastic material and by a second annular body of rubber elastic material surrounding the first at a radial distance therefrom. The one group of supply passages is formed by the cavity surrounded by tthe first annular body and the other group of supply passages by the annular space between the first and the second annular body.

  • Patent number: 4703690
Abstract: In an offset printing apparatus one arranges in the "channel" of the printing plate cylinder a further segment for improving the emulsion and for reducing the time-interval between "stripping" and "scumming," which is provided with a plane, water-conducting and ink-repellent plate, preferably of polished chromium steel. In the course of the rotation of the printing plate cylinder, this segment, designated preemulsifying segment, is wetted by the dampening form-roller of the dampening unit with water which is emulsified by contact with the subsequently arranged ink form-rollers, before same come in contact with the printing plate of the printing plate segment. As a result of the arranging of the emulsifying segment, the time-interval between "stripping" and "scumming" can be quadrupled and the amount of water required can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 4417242
Abstract: In a ring communication system comprising selectively connectable data stations, each station has connecting circuitry including a phase-locked loop arrangement (111) which is frozen at its current frequency and phase in response to a signal interruption caused by a station insertion or removal operation. Control logic (113) generates a freeze control signal in dependence of the signal energy status on input lines (75). This control signal activates gates (149, 151) and switches (155, 157) to interrupt change control signals of the phase-locked loop circuitry and to keep an oscillator control voltage at a given value. The control logic also provides an auxiliary data signal during the freeze interval which is applied to the ring to keep stations downstream in synchronism. By this method and arrangement, undesired reactions and excursions of the phase-locked loop circuitry in response to a signal energy outage are prevented, and synchronization can be rapidly regained after station insertion or removal.

  • Patent number: 4350105
Abstract: A looper lubricating device for a sewing machine includes an oil line having an inlet submerged within an oil supply and a capillary member within the oil line at a spaced location from the inlet and the oil supply. An outlet of the oil line is in fluid communication with an injection nozzle and the capillary member protrudes through the outlet of the oil line into a mixing chamber within the injection nozzle. A gas conduit communicating with the mixing chamber is operative to intermittently produce a pressure gradient between the inlet and the outlet of the oil line to pass oil to the mixing chamber.
