  • Patent number: 5145379
Abstract: In a device for the electrical connection of preferably ALS sensors in or on roller bearings of truck wheels, a seat casing is provided for the transfer of the ALS sensor's signals from one side of the bearing ring to the other, which seat casing is located between the bearing ring and, e.g., the shaft. It serves as signal conductor or it is equipped with conductors consisting of wires, flat band conductors, conductive layers, or the like. The connection to the ALS sensor or a plug ring with a connecting cord, occurs preferably by way of slip rings 10, to exclude all operational interference induced by a creeping motion in a circumferential direction of the otherwise fixed bearing ring. In addition, without conductors or a cord the bearing will be simpler to assemble.

  • Patent number: 5125845
Abstract: An electrical connection, preferably for ALS sensors incorporated in wheel bearings, is installed coaxially on the wheel bearing and its side surface. It is equipped, for example, with slip rings which operate in conjunction with the electrical contacts of the ALS sensor which is solidly attached to the wheel bearing. This simplifies the manufacture and handling of the wheel bearing during transportation and assembly. In particular, the risk of damage to the connecting cord is reduced during operation.

  • Patent number: 4946296
Abstract: A device for sealing and generating electrical pulses in a bearing assembly including fixed and rotating bearing rings especially a wheel bearing for motor vehicles. The device consists of a sealing section on the fixed bearing ring with an embedded pulse generator for detecting rotational movement and a sealing section on the rotating bearing ring having cells a certain distance apart from each other which activate the pulse generator. The fixed bearing ring (4, 19) rotates with respect to the sealing section (2) which is secured against rotation by way of a machine element (1, 24), which holds the fixed bearing ring (4, 19).

  • Patent number: 4647230
Abstract: A spring ring is arranged in an annular gap of a pair of outer bearing rings in an arrangement for fastening a rolling bearing in the bore of a housing. A groove is provided in the housing for receiving the spring ring. A holding ring is mounted on the outer surface of the bearing outer ring, the holding ring having a collar aligned to hold the spring ring within the annular gap during the disassembled condition of the bearing. The holding ring has an axial surface adapted to engage the end of the housing during assembly, to enable the holding ring to be forced axially along the outer surface of the bearing outer ring. The holding ring futher has an end away from the spring ring adapted to form a seal with the bearing inner ring.

  • Patent number: 4526259
Abstract: In a hydraulically operable release arrangement for clutches, especially for vehicle clutches, the release force is transmitted to the plate spring or the like of the clutch by way of a piston, a fixed bearing ring, a multiplicity of rolling bodies, and a rotating bearing ring. The piston is movably arranged in a housing and is biased by a helical spring arranged in a pressure space formed between the piston and the housing. The piston and the housing are each provided with an axial projection. In order to secure the piston against rotation and to damp vibrations in the piston without additional machining or special parts, the helical spring is arranged with its spring ends abutting the axial projections such that rotation of the piston in the direction of rotation of the rotating bearing ring is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4526485
Abstract: A rolling element bearing has annular seals between the races for preventing entry of dirt into the lubricant space. The seals are held to one of the races, and have weakened portions on at least one location about their periphery to enable excess pressure within the lubricant chamber to escape.

  • Patent number: 4509764
Abstract: An hydraulically operated clutch release has an annular piston hydraulically moveable in an annular chamber. A felt ring is mounted on a shoulder of the piston away from the chamber, to engage the bore surface of the chamber, and a holding ring is snapped onto the end of the shoulder to hold the felt ring on the shoulder. An extension of the holding ring forms a seal with the bore on the chamber, and defines, with the felt ring a dust catching recess.

  • Patent number: 4408809
Abstract: A wheel bearing has inner and outer bearing rings each having a radially outwardly directed flange, and a plurality of rolling elements arranged between the rings. An annular seal has a support element affixed to the outer ring, the support element terminating in an annular elastic element of oil resistant material that is slidably engages the inner ring. A cover extends over the flange of the inner ring and has an end terminating radially spaced from a shoulder of the outer ring, to define a sealing gap. The intermediate portion of the cover defines a lubricant accumulation space.
