  • Publication number: 20110300351
Abstract: A method reduces the needed input of resin during an impregnation of decorative papers. As a result of the application of an aliphatic anionic polyurethane dispersion containing polycarbonate following printing, the quantity of resin absorbed in the impregnation is reduced by the capillary action of the paper fibers. At the same time, the light fastness of the printed or unprinted decorative papers is increased. The level of gloss of the pressed paper following application to a paper printed with metal effect ink is enhanced. The tear resistance of a decorative paper is improved and the growth during the impregnation is reduced considerably.
