  • Patent number: 4271517
Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for coding or decoding comprising apparatus for forming check bits with the use of a linear code. The coding should be capable of adaptation to a desired coding scheme in the simplest manner. The invention provides a binary memory which stores each digit position of the binary information and has an allocated check digit position word. There is connected to the output side of the memory a modulo-2-adder cricuit for the purpose of adding check digit position words, and depending upon the binary information received, indicates whether or not it is correct. A circuit arrangement in accordance with the invention is particularly suited for utilization in remote control installations.

  • Patent number: 4181113
Abstract: A voltage divider across the interruptor switch contacts provides a measure of the high voltage produced before a spark occurs at the sparkplug. A Zener diode connected to the upper tap of the voltage divider breaks down when this voltage has risen a certain amount as the result of wear of the sparkplug electrodes that widen the gap. The Zener voltage breakdown causes a relay to lock in and to short-circuit a current-limiting resistor in the spark coil primary circuit that allows a higher voltage spark to be produced to assure proper firing of the sparkplugs with the wider gap. Another Zener diode is connected to the lower tap of the voltage divider to sound an alarm and to disable the ignition circuit when the high voltage at which sparks strike in the sparkplug rises to a value for which the insulation of the spark coil and its connection is not designed to withstand.

  • Patent number: 4075998
Abstract: To permit use of a standard starting switch customary in Otto engines to start automotive-type Diesel engines requiring energization of a glow plug, the "start" position of the control switch is unstable, for example spring-loaded, and returns the switch to "on" position upon release. The ON position also simultaneously forms the pre-heat switch position. The system includes a first relay having its connecting contacts connected to the glow plug and to a source of power, and a second relay forming a transfer switch with one terminal set connected as a self-holding circuit. The coil of the first relay is connected through the other set of transfer contacts of the second relay to the ON terminal of the switch to form the pre-heat circuit when the second relay is de-energized. The "start" position connects the starting motor.
