  • Patent number: 4736642
Abstract: The automatic friction wheel torque converter enables a bearing-free adjustable force transmission, with different loads and speeds, for example in electric vehicles or machines. Said converter is simple, economical and has a high efficiency. It comprises a pair of friction wheels of which one (8) has a conical annular part and the other one a planar disk (11), a device (5) enabling to move one of the wheels with respect to the other one. Said device is articulated about an axis (16) arranged parallel to the disk and to the cone generatrix of the annular part where said annular part engages said disk. The planar disk may be replaced by a driven cone, in which case the axis (16) is parallel to a generatrix of said driven cone. Elastic members acting on an oscillating frame (2) enable a large number of applications.

  • Patent number: 4629115
Abstract: An arrangement for measuring a quantity of heat given off by a heating body to a space and for simultaneously controlling a fluid stream passing through the heating body and serving as a heat carrier for regulating of the space temperature, has a volume stream regulator for allowing a constant fluid stream. An on-off valve is controlled by a signal generator for example a space thermostat via a control valve and switched by the energy of the fluid stream to block or unblock the fluid stream. A temperature sensor cooperating with the heating body and an electronic element determine the quantity of heat by integration of temperature difference values converted into an electrical value during opening times of the on-off valve.

  • Patent number: 4499813
Abstract: In a piston-cylinder device, a guide ring (11) that is provided with helical flutings (12, 26) is arranged between the piston (25) and the cylinder (2). This guide ring (11) has an inner fluting (12). With this it engages an outer fluting (26) on the piston (25). The outer ring surface (13) is smooth. It is provided with full length grooves (15) in order to conduct the pressure medium beneath the lifting piston. The piston (25) is fluted (26) only on one portion of its outer surface. The inclination of this helical fluting (12, 26) amounts to 10.degree.-60.degree.. A rotation-preventing plate (21) holds the piston (25) against rotation. This piston-cylinder device is formed especially for very high and also for eccentric loadings.

  • Patent number: 4412647
Abstract: The apparatus for controlling a discontinuously flowing material flow and for measuring a value proportional to this material flow and a further physical magnitude serves particularly for measurement of heat quantities, preferably in central heating apparatus. For this it utilizes at least a self-regulating flow valve (16) for allowing flow-through of a constant material stream (2) and an open/closed material through-flow valve (6) connected in series with the flow valve (16) and controlled by a third physical magnitude (T.sub.o). A servo control device is associated with the material through-flow valve (6). In this the material flowing through the through-flow valve (6) serves as a servo control medium. A thermostat (9), a time register, a pH gage, a concentration gage or a level gage serves for control of the servo device.

  • Patent number: 4210032
Abstract: The present invention concerns a torque converter for continuously varying the step down ratio in a power transmission in that this step down ratio being automatically varied to give the necessary driving moment to overcome the momentarily applied loading moment.

  • Patent number: 3961565
Abstract: An axially expandable and contractable cylinder and piston assembly is provided with an internal axially back and forth movable guide ring for the piston. Helical teeth or thread means at the outer periphery of the guide ring mesh with complementary helical teeth or thread means at the inner periphery of the piston, and helical teeth or thread means at the inner periphery of the guide ring are slanted oppositely to its outer helical teeth or thread means and mesh with complementary helical teeth or thread means on the cylinder.
