  • Patent number: 5517218
Abstract: In order to avoid the ink drying up in the nozzle apertures of the print head (80) of an ink printer (1) during lengthy pauses in printing and to prevent the nozzle apertures from becoming dirty, the printer (1) described has a cleaning and sealing station (6). Designed as an independent unit, the cleaning and sealing station (6) is located in the overshoot region (OV) of the print head carriage (7). The fact that the carriage (7) no longer requires a separate service and parking position, enables the width of the printer (1) to be reduced.

  • Patent number: 5343773
Abstract: A motor-driven cam disk having a radially projecting, eccentrically arranged crank pin which generates a first movement, for example the pumping movement of a bellows pump. A running wheel which is pressed by a spring force against the cam disk in a resilient manner is arranged in the radial direction on the cam disk. The running wheel serves to generate a second movement, for example the swiveling movement of a swivel lever. For this purpose, the motor-driven cam disk has two cam paths which are offset relative to one another in a stepped manner and pass into one another at two locations on the cam disk. The cam disk has a switch tongue to enable the movements generated by the motor-driven cam disk to be decoupled from one another.

  • Patent number: 4935753
Abstract: The sealing and cleaning apparatus for an ink head consists of an electromotively driven endless band, on which two wedge-shaped wiping lips are arranged. For cleaning and sealing, the nozzle head is brough a close distance in front of the endless band, a surface of the endless band not provided with wiping lips serving as spraying surface for the squirting-out of the ink head. A cleaning device of wiping edge or cleaning roller removes the ink on the endless band. For covering in breaks in recording, the endless band has, furthermore, a depression formed by bulges, which is brough into contact in front of the nozzle plate or covering. For sealing, a convexly formed flexible pad, which is arranged between the endless belt, is pressed by means of a pressure-applying device against the endless band and cosequently against the nozzle plate. Due to the convex form, no air entrapment can occur in the region of the nozzle plate.
