  • Patent number: 8421046
Abstract: In a method for keeping clean a sensor window of an optical sensor for detecting value documents and/or at least one property of value documents which is disposed with at least one portion in a beam path of the sensor, a gas film attached to a surface of the portion is generated on the portion of the sensor window from gas moving relative to the portion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 8, 2008
Date of Patent: April 16, 2013
    Assignee: Giesecke & Devrient GmbH
    Inventor: Karl-Heinz Leuthold
  • Patent number: 8161866
Abstract: A method for producing a capsule containing beverage ingredients designed for insertion in a beverage production device in which a liquid under pressure enters the capsule in order to interact with the ingredients in the capsule and to form beverage. The method includes preforming the capsule body and at least a portion of said flange-like rim, placing a premade sealing member on the flange-like rim, crimping a portion of the flange-like rim on a portion of the sealing member so resulting in the sealing member becoming attached to the flange-like rim.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 2007
Date of Patent: April 24, 2012
    Assignee: Nestec S.A.

  • Publication number: 20050253322
Abstract: A spiral slot stacker has a two-part stripper 2 for stripping out sheet material from a stacker wheel 1. The two parts 2a, 2b of the stripper are movable. A first part 2a of the stripper is moved out of the stacker wheel together with the last bank note 100 to be stacked in such a way, that only the last bank note is stripped out and the next bank note 101 remains in the stacker wheel. The second part 2b of the stripper at this stage rotates along with the stacker wheel and will not be locked in the strip-out position until the spiral slot stacker is prepared for stacking a next bank-note stack. The bank notes, in the meanwhile supplied to the stacker wheel, are stripped out from the stacker wheel by the second part 2b of the stripper, while the first part 2a of the stripper is moved back to the strip-out position. By this method a collision of the first part of the stripper with the bank notes located in the stacker wheel is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4951933
Abstract: A separating apparatus, in which the sheet material is conveyed in stacks via a stack transporting system to the stack holder, comprises first apparatus for effecting selective mechanical manipulation of the stack going through the separation process in case sensors, which check the separation sequence, detect a deviation from the proper separation process. Further sensors may be provided in addition for testing the stack before and during separation as to its shape and/or state of conservation. Taking this information into account, an irregularity occurring during separation can then be combatted by triggering that measure which appears best suitable for automatically eliminating the disturbance of the separation process.

  • Patent number: 4790525
Abstract: A separating apparatus for sheet material in which the sheet material is conveyed in stacks via a stack transporting system to a stack holder including a stack manipulator for effecting selective mechanical manipulation of the stack going through the separation process in the event that a deviation from the proper separation process is detected. In addition, a stack tester may be provided for testing the geometric and physical condition of the stack of sheet material before and during separation. An irregularity occurring during separation can be combatted by instituting a stack manipulation procedure which appears best suitable for automatically eliminating the disturbance of the separation process.

  • Patent number: 4717137
Abstract: A separating apparatus, to which the sheet material is transported in stacks via a stack transporting system, comprises a movable retaining means which reduces the separating gap before the stack is fed and is restored to its original width immediately before separation begins. This allows for the prevention of sheets being wedged in the separating gap, which would otherwise lead to a disturbance of the separation process. The design of a stationary retaining element having an integrated second, movable element allows for the formation of a stopping surface which protrudes beyond the stopping surface of the stationary part and is hit by the leading edges of the sheets in the stack. A toothed design of the new stopping surface allows for the leading edge of the stack of sheet material to be influenced selectively.
