  • Patent number: 4950081
Abstract: The invention relates to a multi-spindle kneading mixer with at least two axis-parallel agitator shafts engaging into one another, one of which is designed as a disk shaft, into which kneading elements of a kneading shaft engage, wherein these kneading elements scrape the product off from the disk surfaces and press it by means of corresponding diverting surfaces into a kneading gap formed on the one hand by the kneading element and on the other hand by the opposite disk surface, the product being moved axially to and from between the disk surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4941130
Abstract: A multi-spindle kneading mixer with at least two intermeshing shafts, one of which is equipped with disk elements which are cleaned by a second agitator shaft, with intensive full mixing and kneading taking place at the same time, characterized in that fixed kneading counterelements are inserted in the housing for the purpose of an approximately complete cleaning of the two agitator shafts.

  • Patent number: 4826324
Abstract: A kneader-mixer performs mechanical, thermal and/or chemical processes with products which are in the liquid, viscous-pasty and/or free flowing state and includes an elongated hollow casing having an axis of elongation and having axially separated product inlet and product outlet ports. The casing has an inner wall. A kneading shaft in the casing is aligned with the axis and is rotatable thereabout. A plurality of kneading arms secured to the shaft extend radially outward therefrom in the casing. The arms are spaced axially along the shaft. A plurality of flat disc elements are disposed in the casing and lie in spaced parallel planes disposed at right angles to the shaft. Each element defines a circular sector spaced from the shaft and is secured to the inner wall of the casing. Each element is disposed adjacent a kneading arm which cleans the adjacent surface of the element as the shaft rotates.

  • Patent number: 4824257
Abstract: Kneader-mixers for mechanical and thermal treatment of products in different state forms, comprising a heatable cylindrical casing and a kneader shaft with heatable disk elements revolving therein and on which are arranged kneading blades scraping the inner wall of the casing. During mixing, these stirring elements cooperate with the hook-like kneading counterelments cleaning the stirrer surfaces and fixed in the casing. In each counterelement an arm forms a kneading gap with the casing wall, while second and third arms clean the disks and shaft. Each radial scraper for each disk element has at least two separate scraping edges, which subdivide the product into two product flows and through the inclined position of the kneading counterelements the scraped product acquires a powerful axial and radial transport component.

  • Patent number: 4650338
Abstract: A mixing and kneading machine comprises a rotating shaft with four circumferentially juxtaposed kneading members, which have an angle of inclination bringing about an axial feed action. Another shaft rotates four times faster. The faster rotating shaft has kneading members with a four times greater slope than the kneading members on the slower shaft. A faster axial product feed in the casing part surrounding the more rapidly rotating shaft is prevented by baffle plates provided in said casing part, so that a narrower residence time distribution for the product is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4039024
Abstract: In a heat exchanger for treating a flowable material, a multiplicity of disc elements are secured to and extend transversely of a shaft rotatably mounted within a casing. Disc elements are arranged in a number of planes extending transversely of the shaft and spaced apart in the axial direction. Material to be treated is introduced into the casing and is moved through it in the axial direction of the shaft by the disc elements and stirrer elements secured to the disc elements. The stirrer elements extend in the axial direction of the shaft and can be continuous for the extent of the disc elements or they can extend between adjacent disc elements or be supported by an individual one of the disc elements. In a preferred arrangement, the stirrer elements are bar-shaped and are located at the radially outer edges of the disc elements.
