  • Patent number: 5330555
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and apparatus for manufacturing low-gas and pore-free aluminum casting alloys by vacuum degasification and densification of the melt. Contact between the aluminum melt and the atmospheric humidity of the alloying process, from refining to continuous casting of the cast bars, is kept extremely short, so that effective vacuum degasification, and a high cooling rate, can prevent the formation of gas pores. After the metal melt is alloyed in a smelting furnace, the melt is fed through a system of gutters directly to at least one vacuum furnace. Refining components are added in the vacuum furnace and heating is conducted to provide the pouring temperature required for continuous casting.

  • Patent number: 4909451
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing an end winding on a bobbin on which yarn has been wound. The bobbin is wound in an unwinding direction while the trailing yarn end is engaged and a length of yarn is unwound from the bobbin by suction. The yarn is released from the suction once a length of yarn has been unwound from the bobbin, the released unwound yarn falls onto a yarn support member to be supported at a location at substantially the level of the upper end of the bobbin. The bobbin is then further rotated in the unwinding direction to wind the unwound yarn length into an end winding on the upper end of the bobbin. The yarn support member includes a pair of oppositely sloping transverse surfaces spaced lengthwise of the yarn from one another to define a receiving slot therebetween and a yarn guiding eye is disposed beneath and in communication with the receiving slot for supporting the unwound yarn length during winding of the end winding.

  • Patent number: 4896841
Abstract: A method and apparatus for locating and loosening a reserve yarn winding on a textile spinning cop wherein the cop is rotated about its axis while a reserve yarn locating implement with a hook having a reversely-directed rounded tip is placed against the cop periphery with the tip facing opposite the direction of cop rotation to catch the reserve yarn winding within the hook and, thereafter, the implement is withdrawn tangentially from the cop to draw with it the reserve yarn winding until the winding comes loose from the cop or breaks.

  • Patent number: 4589602
Abstract: An automatic winding machine, includes a plurality of winding stations each having a bobbin unwinding location, a plurality of bobbin magazines each disposed at a respective winding station for receiving a plurality of bobbins on bobbin tubes in order with respect to their tips, the bobbins each having a thread end prepared for unwinding at a given location thereon, and a thread suction device disposed above each respective bobbin magazine having a suction opening formed therein facing the upper end of a bobbin tube of a bobbin disposed in the bobbin magazine to be transferred to the unwinding location.
