  • Patent number: 4353269
Abstract: The transmission has a driving shaft (1) and a driven shaft (9) and a changeover coupling, including a primary part (4) connected to the driving shaft and a secondary part (5) connected to an intermediate shaft (6) with a kinematic connection between the intermediate shaft and the driven shaft. The improvement comprises a first planetary gearing (100), including a rotatable stay (11) connected to the secondary part (5). A second planetary gearing (200) includes a rotatable second stay (19) connected to the primary part (4). A hydrostatic pump (28) having fluid fittings (29, 30) and a drive shaft (27) connected to the second planetary gearing (200). A hydrostatic motor (31) having fluid fittings connected to the pump fittings and a motor shaft (32) connected to the first planetary gearing (100), whereby at normal cruising speeds, the primary and secondary parts of the coupling are directly interconnected, and whereby at slow speeds the primary and secondary parts are disconnected.

  • Patent number: 4311472
Abstract: Two separately operable turbines are regularly connected individually to two propellers, via reducing gears in each instance, whereby an intermediate shaft is included in each such power train. These intermediate shafts are interconnected via an interconnecting transmission gear with clutches at either end, so that this transmission is completely removed when both turbines drive the propellers while either turbine can drive both propellers when the clutches are operated. Details of the mounting and of the gears and their configuration are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4309914
Abstract: A ship drive system with main engine, main transmission and propeller shaft is supplemented by a transmission branch permitting power transmission in both directions. The branch includes an auxiliary engine, an a.c. generator selectively connected to that auxiliary engine and a controlled transmission unit interposed between the generator shaft and a branch shaft from the main transmission. The unit includes two planetary gear sets of different transmission ratios, their sun gears are mounted on the generator shaft, and a common spider for two sets of planet gears is mounted on the branch shaft; the two internal ring gears for the planetary gears are selectively, one at a time or none, immobilized for power transmission at the respective speed ratio.

  • Patent number: 4173906
Abstract: Six planets in a planetary gear are arranged in groups of two each wherein the planets of two groups are similarly spaced, the spacing of the two planets in the third group is larger but still smaller than the spacing from group to group. The radial lines of symmetry of the three groups are angularly spaced by 120.degree..

  • Patent number: 4173330
Abstract: A lifting device having a rotating female threaded member and a non-rotating axially movable lifting spindle is load releaved by means of pressurized oil pumped to oil pockets in the threads of the female member. Multiple pumps are secured to the female member and are arranged in pairs with a common drive shaft and a pinion for each pair. The pinions all mesh with the internal gear of an annulus being concentrically arranged around the member and having an external gear for independent driving. The pumps are connected to the pockets by means of ducts, there being no fluid pass across moving interfaces. The pumps have a common suction feed which dips into an annular reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4118848
Abstract: A rim element is at first provided with teeth and welded to an apertured disc. The resulting gear is temperhardened and subsequently assembled on a shaft or hub. The gear is welded to the shaft or hub and ground.

  • Patent number: 4106366
Abstract: A play-free planetary drive includes a sun gear and an internal gear between which planetary gears revolve as they rotate. The planetary gears are slightly beveled. The sun gear and the internal gear also are beveled, so that the bevel of the sun gear and of the internal gear match that of the planetary gears. With this arrangement of the gears, the sun gear and the internal gear are urged axially against the planetary gears, meshing into them until play has been eliminated. The internal gear is non-rotatably mounted to the housing, but is permitted to shift slightly radially to accommodate radial run-out of the planetary gears. Likewise, the sun gear is permitted to shift slightly radially to accommodate radial run-out of the planetary gears. The radial accommodation thus provided achieves a degree of load equalization among the planetary gears.

  • Patent number: 3958465
Abstract: A shaft carrying a cutter head is bolted to the output shaft of a speed reducer gear in coaxial configuration and having a casing journalled on the shaft. The casing carries plural drive motors and the gear has a combining stage as input. The shafts are mounted in thrust and pendulum bearings in a frame and the casing is held against rotation on that frame. The output stage of the gear is a planetary gear with a spider from which extends the output shaft and a hollow shaft and in opposite directions. The casing is journalled on the shaft by bearings engaging the hollow shaft and the output shaft at opposite sides of the spider.

  • Patent number: 3930379
Abstract: The coupling has two annular flanges respectively secured to driving and driven shafts and spaced apart axially. A hollow shaft is interposed between the flanges, and is connected to these flanges through holding elements extending axially from the flanges on the outside as well as inside of the shaft and being connected to the hollow shaft through individual rubber elements whereby a holding element on the outside is radially aligned with a holding element on the inside with two radially tensioned rubber elements inbetween, one on the inside and one on the outside. The holding elements as connected to one flange are on their axial other end interconnected by an annulus, two annuli facing each other in pairs and about the (axial) center of the hollow shaft but leaving a gap between.
