  • Patent number: 5639250
Abstract: A terminal strip is described, of the type that includes connector modules that can be mounted end-to-end on a circuit board to provide a strip having the desired number of contact positions, which minimizes the number of separate connector modules that must be mounted, which minimizes the number of different module lengths that must be manufactured, and which increases the stability of the connector modules. Where rear modules are mounted to the rear of the connector front modules, the front and rear modules are laterally offset. Different length modules, that is, modules with different numbers of columns of contact positions, are manufactured, with the smallest module having a predetermined number of columns, the second smallest size having twice as many columns as the smallest, and the third largest size having four times as many columns as the first. Similar lengths of rear modules are provided.

  • Patent number: 4802754
Abstract: A spectacle frame has pad legs formed in the region of the nose flanks of the nose of the person wearing the spectacles. A soft-pad system includes soft pads for insertion in corresponding recesses formed in the pad legs. The soft pads serve to brace the spectacle frame on the nose of the person wearing the spectacles in a soft and slip-free manner. In order to take account of the different anatomical conditions that occur when fitting spectacles, the pads can be so configured that they have different thicknesses at different locations on their bearing surface. In this way, a soft-pad system is provided which includes a plurality of soft pads in which each pad of a pair of pads is identical and each pad pair is configured differently. For each situation, a single pad pair will be inserted into the spectacle frame with the pad pair configured in correspondence with the anatomical requirements.

  • Patent number: 4792222
Abstract: A pad system for supporting a spectacle frame on the bridge of the nose of the wearer includes a pad arm fastened to the spectacle frame in the area of the root of the nose of the wearer. The pad arm has a generally rectangular cross section at the outer end thereof for fastening the pad which has a rectangular blind hole for receiving the outer end of the pad arm. The blind hole is configured such that the longitudinal axes of the cross sections of the blind hole and the pad conjointly define an acute angle. Additionally, it is advantageous to place the blind hole outside of the center axis of the pad. By pushing the pad onto the pad arm in different positions, a spectacle frame with rigid pad arms can easily be adapted to the anatomical actualities of different facial shapes.
