  • Patent number: 6305842
Abstract: The invention relates to an X-ray examination apparatus which includes an X-ray source and a diaphragm unit which is connected to the X-ray source and is provided with shutters for limiting a radiation cone beam emanating from the focal spot of the X-ray source, and also includes a light source for generating a light cone beam which traverses the shutters via a mirror. When the dimensions of the light-emitting parts of the light source are significantly larger than the focal spot, the irradiation field irradiated by the radiation cone beam is smaller than the illuminated field illuminated by the light cone beam. In order to match the irradiation field with the illuminated field, the shutters are provided with correction shutters which are transparent to X-rays but impervious to light and limit the light cone beam.

  • Patent number: 5844962
Abstract: The invention relates to an X-ray examination apparatus, including an X-ray source (3, 4) for generating X-rays and a diaphragm unit (5) which is connected to the X-ray source (3, 4) and includes shutters (6) which can be adjusted by a drive device (11, 12) so as to limit the radiation beam (100, 200) emanating from a first source (1) or from a second source (2), and a control unit (13) which controls the drive device. Correspondence between the radiation fields emanating from both sources can be achieved also in the case of different sizes of the sources; the control unit (13) then controls the drive device (11, 12) in such a manner that the shutters occupy a first position (h.sub.1) when limiting the radiation beam (101) from the first source (1) and a second position (h.sub.2) when limiting the radiation beam (200) from the second source (2), the first and the second position being such that the respective radiation fields of the first and the second source, as defined by the shutters, have equal size (H).

  • Patent number: 4665540
Abstract: Apparatus for making sectional radiographs which allows for the operator to preset the scanning patterns to be followed by the apparatus during the making of a sectional radiograph. The operator positions the source or the image detector in at least one point on the path defining the desired scanning pattern. This position is measured and applied to an arithmetic device which derives therefrom reference values for driving the source and the image detector.

  • Patent number: 3975642
Abstract: The invention relates to an image section of an X-ray apparatus for medical applications, comprising a control unit which completely or partly closes the diaphragm during the movement of the cassette from the parking position to the recording position. This prevents fogging which can otherwise occur when the film is exposed during this movement of the cassette to the slowly disappearing X-radiation caused by preceding fluoroscopy.
