Abstract: The present invention relates to a mixer system for the production of water-thinnable coating compositions having a precisely defined color shade, from various base colors, which mixer system is characterized in that it comprisesA) various base colors A which contain less than 5% by weight of water, at least one color and/or effect pigment, organic solvent, at least one water-dilutable or water-dispersible acrylic polyurethane resin (A1) and/or polyacrylate resin (A2) and optionally auxiliaries and additives, andB) at least one pigment-free component B which contains water.The present invention also relates to a process for the production of coating compositions using this mixer system and to the use of the mixer system for the production of aqueous basecoats for the coating of automobile bodies and/or plastic parts, in particular for automotive refinishing.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of two-coat finishes, in which a pigmented aqueous basecoat is applied, the basecoat obtained is coated over with a clearcoat, and basecoat and clearcoat are baked together. The process according to the invention is distinguished in that the aqueous basecoat contains a polyacrylate resin which has been prepared using furfuryl acrylate and/or furfuryl methacrylate.

Abstract: The present invention relates to water-dilutable polyurethane resins which are characterized in that they have been prepared using diols of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are an identical or different radical and are an alkyl radical having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, an aryl radical or a cycloaliphatic radical, with the proviso that R.sub.1 and/or R.sub.2 may not be methyl,and/or diols of the formula (II) ##STR2## in which R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are each identical or different radicals and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl radical or an aryl radical and R.sub.5 is an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an aryl radical of an unsaturated alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and n is either 0 or 1.
