  • Patent number: 9440766
Abstract: The invention relates to a sealing disc for a container closure used for a container having a mouth delimited by a circumferential edge. The sealing disc is composed of a plurality of layers with an edge. Before the container is opened for the first time, at least one group of layers tightly closes the mouth of said container. One of the layers is a metallic layer that can be heated by induction. The other layers are non-metallic and unable to be directly heated by induction. The group of layers can be sealed, using a sealing layer, on the circumferential edge of the mouth. One of the layers is composed of a thermally insulating material. The sealing disc has at least one grip tab. The grip tab is formed from just one or more of the layers of the layer group. The surfaces of the layers that form said grip tab project beyond the edge of the metallic, induction-heatable layer of the group for the length of the surface of the grip tab.

  • Patent number: 9132947
Abstract: A sealing disc (10) is used for closing orifices of containers (5). It has a film (20) for inductively coupling heat into the sealing disc (10). A sealing layer (25) is provided on that side of the film (20) which is intended to face the interior of the container (5) in order to seal, in sealtight fashion, the sealing disc (10) on the orifice of the container (5). Lines of weakness (26) are provided in the sealing layer (25) so as to form a removal opening (27) once the film (20) has been drawn off. One or more layers (40), which are connected detachably to the film (20), are provided on that side of the film (20) which is remote from the sealing layer (25). The layers (40) detach mare easily from the lam (20) than the sealing layer (25) and also detach more easily from the orifice of the container (5) than the sealing layer (25).

  • Publication number: 20150034643
Abstract: Systems and method may provide for a computing device that encodes multiple regions of a video frame at different quality levels. In particular, a first region of one or more frames containing a speaker's face may be located and encoded at a first quality level. A second region containing a background, on the other hand, may be located and encoded at a second quality level. Optionally, a third region containing additional faces may be located and encoded at a third quality level and a fourth region may be located and encoded at a fourth quality level.

  • Patent number: 6362461
Abstract: A sealing device for sealing non-circular, in particular polygonal, for example tetragonal, hexagonal, octagonal or elliptical, container openings comprises one or a plurality of induction loops (11, 38, 41) for sealing purposes. Containers (2) comprise joined-on closure devices (3) with sealing discs (15) joined onto a sealing edge (14) of the container opening. The induction loops (11, 38, 41) are adapted to the shape of the sealing edge (14) and the spacing between the induction loop (11, 38, 41) and sealing edge (14) is constantly adjustable and selectable.

  • Patent number: 5669521
Abstract: A sealing cover for an opening of a container has a first foil that seals the opening of the container. A metallic foil, especially aluminum foil, is also provided for inductive sealing of the first foil at the lip of the opening, along with a removable sealing lid that is releasably screwed onto the container. A releasable adhesive control layer positioned between the first foil and the metallic foil, enables the metallic foil to be detached from the first foil after the sealing lid has been removed. An elastic layer is provided between the sealing lid and the metallic foil. Between the metallic foil and the elastic layer is a separation layer, which becomes liquid at induction temperatures, and a suction layer. During the induction process, the latter absorbs the liquified substance of the separation layer. The adhesive control layer does not have such an adjoining suction layer.
