  • Patent number: 5151523
Abstract: A process for preparing 2-methylbenzoxazole by cyclizing acetamidophenol with the simultaneous elimination of the water of reaction. The process involves the drying and melting of the acetamidophenol, the cyclization of acetamidophenol to 2-methylbenzoxazole, and the removal of the water of reaction and the 2-methylbenzoxazole from the reaction mixture after the cyclization step by distillation. All the steps are carried out in a dryer.

  • Patent number: 3960486
Abstract: Powdered, highly concentrated and stably dispersible dye formulations which are substantially devoid of dye agglomerates, which contain dyes which are not soluble in water such as disperse dyes or vat dyes, anionactive dispersing agents and (as stabilizing agent) from 2 to 30% by weight based on the dye of a polyethylene oxide having a molecular weight of from 200 to 1000 or a reaction product which has been obtained froma. C.sub.6 to C.sub.20 fatty alcohols;B. alkylphenols of C.sub.4 to C.sub.12 in the alkyl;C. C.sub.14 to C.sub.20 fatty amines;D. castor oil or hydrogenated castor oil;E. C.sub.14 to C.sub.20 fatty acids; orF. natural resin acidswith from 2 to 80 moles of ethylene oxide per mole of OH or NH.sub.2 groups; or fromalkylenediamines of two to five carbon atoms with from 25 to 120 moles of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide per mole of NH.sub.2 groups. The formulations are stable in storage at 60.degree.C and remain devoid of dye agglomerates.
