  • Patent number: 6781813
Abstract: An electronic releasing device for pyrotechnic igniters has a primary and a secondary charge. The primary charge is ignited by means of a circuit that comprises electronic components and whose essential electronic components are accommodated as an integrated components as an integrated circuit in an IC housing, with the housing being disposed on a printed circuit board. The terminals of the IC housing are provided as connecting points for test instruments for checking the serviceability of the integrated circuit and the igniter function and also serve for connection to external electronic devices for programming the releasing device.

  • Publication number: 20040045470
Abstract: Errors may occur in a detonating system that consists of several detonating circuits when the connection—the logging-on—of detonators is effected to the buses of a logger which in turn is connected to a blaster. Connecting is effected, particularly in opencast-mining operations, under conditions that may lead to damage, not visible at first, in particular to the insulation of the detonators and also of the detonating lines. Errors may occur in the transmission of data, for example as a result of loss or falsification of the signals to be transmitted or as a result of intrusion of signals from an extraneous detonator.

  • Patent number: 6655289
Abstract: The invention relates to trigger units for initiating pyrotechnic elements which usually consist of a switch and control unit, ignition means and an ignition charge body. Said switch and control element is triggered by way of an electric coupling via a line in order to initiate ignition. The line for the electric coupling and the dimensions of the switch and control element which are usually accommodated in an IC housing complicate the design and the automatic assembly of the trigger units. According to the invention, the switch and control element (1) is surrounded by a first shell (2). Said first shell (2) is connected to a second shell (1) which contains the ignition charge body (23). The invention is further characterized in that the ignition means (19) dip into said second shell (21).

  • Patent number: 6637339
Abstract: Effects of capacitive resistances on the transmission of data between electronic igniters of an ignition system and a device for programming and triggering igniters are avoided by the disclosed method. Prior to a planned communication of an igniter with the device, a dc voltage is applied to the ignition circuit for a predetermined length of time. This voltage is higher than the voltage provided for generating the signals with which the data are generated. Subsequently, the signals that the igniter transmits in response are produced with a lower voltage than the previously elevated voltage and the dc voltage is increased once again prior to the response to an additional igniter.

  • Patent number: 6267510
Abstract: A roller bearing with roller elements constructed as rollers (4) or balls arranged between an inner race (3) and an outer race (5), and with a thick-walled outer ring (6) if provided. The inner surface of the outer ring forms the outer race (5) and the outer surface is provided for direct rolling on a cylindrical matching roller path, and has a crowned contour (7) curved in longitudinal section. In accordance with the invention, the spherical crowned contour (7) of the outer ring (6) is formed from several arcs that pass smooth into one another whereby the radius of curvature of a central arc and the radius of curvature of an outer arc have in a ratio from 2 to 1 up to 5 to 1 in relation to one another.

  • Patent number: 5909988
Abstract: A universal combined milling and boring machine having a machine column, a compound slide that can traverse horizontally on the machine column, a spindle head mounted on the compound slide so that it can traverse vertically, with a work spindle, a rotary table mounted so it can pivot over a supporting console on the machine column and a control unit. Multiaxial machining with relatively inexpensive control technology and a control system with optimum visual contact with the machining site are made possible according to this invention due to the fact that the supporting console is mounted on the machine column so it can rotate about a horizontal swivel axis. The swivel axis is offset laterally relative to the central axis of the combined milling and boring machine; the rotary table is mounted centrally on the console so it can rotate about an axis of rotation normal to the swivel axis; and the control unit includes a portable control console.

  • Patent number: 5738782
Abstract: Apparatus for cleaning fluids, especially cooling lubricants of machine tools. The apparatus includes a tank having a partition subdividing it into a sedimentation chamber and a clean chamber and having an inlet for the contaminated cooling lubricant and a discharge device for the cleaned cooling lubricant. A filter is mounted between the sedimentation chamber and the clean chamber and a conveyor device is mounted in the sedimentation chamber for removing sedimented particles from the tank. An environmentally safe and low-maintenance cleaning apparatus according to this invention is created by the fact that the sedimentation chamber is subdivided by a partition into an inlet area and a preliminary cleaning area that are connected to each other by a passage in the lower area of the partition. The filter is an edge filter mounted in the partition between the preliminary cleaning area and the clean chamber.

  • Patent number: 5182900
Abstract: A method for checking operation of a pneumatic splicer for joining two yarn ends at a textile machine includes feeding splicing gas for a predetermined period of time to a splicer to be checked for splicing a particular yarn batch without having yarn ends laid in place in a splicing conduit of a splicer head of the splicer to be checked. At least one status variable of outflowing splicing gas is measured during the predetermined period of time at a given opening in the splicer head. A reference value is measured at another splicer producing replicable spliced joints meeting a previously defined quality and being identical to the splicer being checked, by feeding splicing gas to the other splicer without yarn ends being laid in place in the splicing conduit and measuring the reference value at a given opening in the splicer head. The at least one status variable is compared with the measured reference value and deviations are ascertained.

  • Patent number: 5096133
Abstract: A debris removing apparatus for a textile winding machine is provided and includes an air stream channeling device, an air drive device, and a structure forming an opposite opening. The air stream channeling device includes an intake opening and a pair of wall members each having a generally planar portion extending substantially parallel to a lateral plane on which a linear travel path of a yarn lies as the yarn travels between a supply package to another yarn package at a winding station of the textile machine. The generally planar portions channel air drawn in through the intake opening by the air drive device into an air stream which travels parallel to the lateral plane toward the traveling yarn. The air stream flows around the yarn and entrains debris on and around the yarn for transport away from the yarn. The air drive device, in one aspect of the invention, includes a suction housing through which suction is applied.
