  • Patent number: 4367706
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for an air-compressing fuel injected internal combustion engine with a pump piston arranged in a pump cylinder and controlling a fuel control bore in the pump working chamber and with a control element in constant connection with the pump piston for the purposes of fuel control. The control element is constructed so that it constantly connects the pump working chamber to an intermediate chamber located above the control element and serving as a reservoir. The control element connects the pump working chamber and the pump pressure chamber by way of a bore arrangement only during a piston stroke. An arrangement is provided by which the communication between the pump working chamber and pump pressure chamber is temporarily interrupted during the piston stroke in such a way that, prior to the interruption, a variable preliminary injection quantity is conveyed and, after the interruption, a principal injection quantity is fed.

  • Patent number: 4259040
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for an air-compressing fuel-injected internal combustion engine which includes a first pump piston arranged in each pump cylinder for regulating a fuel control bore of a pump working chamber. A control element cooperable with the pump piston controls a flow of fuel in the injection pump. The control element is provided with a bore arrangement by way of which the pump working chamber is connected with a pump pressure chamber. An intermediate chamber is arranged between the pump working chamber and the pump pressure chamber from which two separate feed lines terminate into the pump pressure chamber in such a way that a feed stream of fuel is conducted by way of the first feed line arranged in the control cylinder with temporal interruption by the control element but that this feed stream is constantly conducted by way of the second feed line which acts as a throttle.

  • Patent number: 4250859
Abstract: An adjusting mechanism for the rotational speed-dependent control of the injection instant of an injection pump of internal combustion engines, with a primary part driven by the crankshaft and with a secondary part rotatably connected with the pump shaft and with the return springs supported, on the one hand, at guide members of the primary part and, on the other, at guide members of the secondary part; the return springs, with increasing rotational speed of the adjusting mechanism, act opposite the flyweights guided between the guide members; within the lower rotational speed range, at least one return spring which is disposed opposite at least another return spring installed under prestress, has a play between the guide members between which it is supported.

  • Patent number: 4178141
Abstract: A fuel injection pump for compressed air injected internal combustion engines with a pump piston and with a control slide valve member coaxially arranged to each other in a given pump cylinder, of which the pump piston controls a fuel control bore in the pump working space and actuates the control slide valve member which is under the force of a spring; the control slide valve member which rests continuously on the pump piston and possibly may be made in one piece therewith includes in its lower half facing the pump piston a recess, preferably rounded-off, that extends in the direction of movement of the control slide valve member and that terminates at a slight inclination in the direction of the outer circumference of the control slide valve member; a bore arrangement is provided in the housing part in which the control slide valve member is longitudinally displaceably guided by means of which the pump pressure space is connected with the pump working space alternately by way of a bore arrangement in the co
