Abstract: A fluid drainage device which includes a fluid-receiving volume, a cover which is movable between a first limiting position at which an inlet port is in fluid communication with the volume and a second limiting position at which an outlet port is in fluid communication with the volume, a piston which is movable inside the volume between a first position and a second position, a handle which is moveable in a first direction to cause the piston to move to the first position and to store energy in a spring so that, when the cover is in the first limiting position the piston is moveable by energy released from the spring to reduce pressure in the volume, allowing fluid flow through the inlet port, and wherein movement of the handle in a second direction causes the piston to move to the second position thereby expelling fluid from the volume.

Abstract: The invention relates to a pool cleaner. Rotation from a turbine is transmitted to a first wheel that is forwardly driven. A second wheel is switched between corresponding forward rotation and rearward rotation. An axle of the first wheel rotatably supports a sleeve that carries the second wheel. The reverse transmission is effected by a double-sided dog clutch member slidably supported between a pair of clutch gears freely rotatable on a rotating lay shaft. A first clutch gear is connected for reverse rotation and a second clutch gear for forward rotation of the sleeve. A switching mechanism includes a movably mounted lever arm engaging the double-sided clutch member with a cam follower engaging a cam formation carried on an independently supported control gear connected to the turbine and in mesh with a worm gear on the lay shaft.

Abstract: An underwater wall mounted light fitting having a sealed light source chamber and an electrical supply connection chamber including a port to sealingly engage over an electrical supply line with an array of electrical conductive connectors embedded in a dividing wall and each providing a connection terminal on opposite sides of the wall within the chambers respectively. The dividing wall is moulded around the connectors which are provided as rigid spigots with circumferential grooves to receive the moulded wall material. The connection chamber is a hollow cover with the port which includes a compression gland assembly for an electrical supply line. The dividing wall is securable against a peripheral frame provided on the lens and the frame includes a continuous flange which fits around the dividing wall. The housing is releasably securable to a wall mountable bracket. LEDs provide the light source.

Abstract: The invention relates to a drive mechanism for a pool cleaner (101). Rotation from a turbine assembly (201) is transmitted to a pair of rear wheels. A first wheel (104.1) is forwardly driven. The second wheel (104.2) is switch between corresponding forward rotation and rearward rotation. An axle (109) of the first wheel (104.1) includes a coaxial shaft which rotatably supports a sleeve that carries the second wheel (104.2). The reverse transmission is effected by a double-sided dog clutch member (117) slidably between a pair of clutch gears (118, 119) freely rotatable on a rotating lay shaft (111). A first clutch gear (118) is connected for reverse rotation and a second clutch gear (119) for forward rotation of the sleeve carrying the second wheel (104.2).

Abstract: An underwater wall mounted light fitting having a sealed or sealable light source chamber having a lens and a sealable electrical supply connection chamber including a port to sealingly engage over an electrical supply line with a dividing wall of insulating material provided between the two compartments and an array of electrical conductive connectors embedded in the dividing wall and each providing a connection terminal on opposite sides of the wall within the chambers respectively. The dividing wall is moulded around the connectors which are provided as rigid spigots with circumferential grooves to receive the moulded wall material. Grub-screws into cross passages are used to engage the electrical wire in each spigot. The connection chamber is a hollow cover with the port which includes a compression gland assembly for an electrical supply line.

Abstract: Valves (110) and other apparatus, methods of moulding and moulds (112) are provided for the moulding of materials such as injection or injection-compression moulding of molten thermoplastic materials. The valve includes a valve element/piston (126) that is orientated at 60 degrees relative to the mould's bounding wall (116) and that can reciprocate in a barrel (122) and that can rotate. The piston (126) h a leading face (128) that is also orientated at 60 degrees, so that the flow passage/melt channel (118) extends past the leading face (128) when the valve (110) is open and the leading face (128) forms part of the bounding wall of the mould cavity (114) when the valve is closed. The piston (126) is advanced or retracted a very short distance and is rotated through 180 degrees, to open and close the valve (110).

The pallet (10) includes a main body (12) defining a load deck (16) and feet (18) and the main body (12) is suitable to be used as a pallet for applications such as light duty, one-way transport of goods. The pallet (10) further includes a bottom accessory (14) that can be attached to the feet (18) of the main body (12) to form beams (44,46) extending between the feet (18) to convert the main body (12) into pallet (10) that is suitable for use in heavy duty applications such as in pallet pools. The main body (12) and bottom accessory (14) are each configured to allow them to be nested, when not attached to each other. The processes of the invention include using the main body (12) to transport goods from manufacturers and then attaching the bottom accessory (14) to the main body (12) to form a pallet (10) for use in a pallet pool.

Abstract: A PVC-free multilayer tube, preferably for medical purposes, with more dependable peelability, comprises at least three layers, of which a base layer comprising a first plastics material has been bonded to at least one connection layer comprising a second plastics material by means of at least one buffer layer arranged between the base layer and the at least one connection layer, the buffer layer comprising a third plastics material, wherein the multilayer tube can be used to mold a coil or a loop with a diameter of down to 50 mm without undesirable kinking. Each of the first and second plastics materials is comprised of at least 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the base layer and the connection layer, respectively, of polyolefins, while the third plastics material has a proportion, based on the total weight of the buffer layer, of more than 75% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer which is not a polyolefin.

Abstract: The invention is directed to methods (and corresponding apparatus) for accurate transmission of an ELIN/callback number from an emergency caller after the emergency call goes on-hook. The methods include (upon initiation of an emergency call) the steps of storing an emergency location identification number and/or callback number in a buffer; and, upon detecting an on-hook event, transmitting the ELIN and/or callback number from the buffer. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the emergency call is disconnected after said step of transmitting; and prior to said step of transmitting, optionally first over private network and to the public network PSAP, a timer is initiated. The step of disconnecting is performed after the timer expires.

Abstract: A divider barrier for roadway delineation includes detachably juxtaposed divider members which have each a housing-like base body having slanted roof-shaped lateral collision plates. Connected to the lower longitudinal edges of the collision plates are support plates which extend from the base body outwards. A guide bar is provided above the base body at a vertical distance thereto. Successive divider members are detachably coupled by connectors. The support plates of two successive divider members are detachably connected to one another by fishplates on the underside, wherein each fishplate is hereby fixed with its first end portion under the support plate of one divider member and with its second end portion under the support plate of a following divider member. Each of the first and second end portions of each fishplate has a receiving opening for engagement of a round pin and secured under each of the support plates.

Abstract: A PVC-free multilayer tube, preferably for medical purposes, with more dependable peelability, comprises at least three layers, of which a base layer comprising a first plastics material has been bonded to at least one connection layer comprising a second plastics material by means of at least one buffer layer arranged between the base layer and the at least one connection layer, the buffer layer comprising a third plastics material, wherein the multilayer tube can be used to mold a coil or a loop with a diameter of up to 50 mm without undesirable kinking. Each of the first and second plastics materials is comprised of at least 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the base layer and the connection layer, respectively, of polyolefins, while the third plastics material has a proportion, based on the total weight of the buffer layer, of more than 75% by weight of a thermoplastic elastomer which is not a polyolefin.

The structure of the inventive device is simple and it is easy to handle by virtue of the fact that the mouse (4) is connected via a single mouse cable (2.1) and the annunciator (3) is connected via a single annunciator cable (2.2) to a common connection element (2.9′), whereby the mouse cable (2.1) and the annunciator cable (2.2) can be joined together either directly or via an additional connection element (2.5) or an additional transition cable (2.9) and a connection element to the input (5.1′) to the operator's communication unit for a computer (5).

Abstract: The invention is directed to methods for accurate transmission of ELIN/callback number from an emergency caller calling from behind a PBX/MLTS include assigning a port equipment number to each device/trunk of the PBX/MLTS and associating ports/devices with ELINs and callback numbers. The apparatus of the invention detects an emergency number, assigns the call priority, and uses the port/device number to determine the ELIN/callback number and properly transmit the ELIN/callback number optionally first over a private network and to the public network PSAP.
