Abstract: A roof structure for motor vehicles has at least one roof panel attached to the body of the motor vehicle, a headliner, a linkage for shifting the roof panel from an out-of-service position into a use position, and at least one support element carrying a portion of the headliner for displacement between an out-of-service end position and a working end position. The headliner portion in the respective out-of-service end position covers a motor-vehicle portion and in the working position frees the motor-vehicle portion. The support element is pivotal to displace the portion about a pivot axis fixed relative to the roof panel.

Abstract: A device for stretching or positioning at least one roof panel (13), in particular of a motor-vehicle convertible roof, relative to at least one link element with at least one traction element (11a, 11b, 37), in particular a cable, for connection to the link element (29) and/or to a roof panel (13) and that for this purpose at least one end one connector (31, 51) that cooperates with another connector (12a, 12b, 13c, 50) that is directly or indirectly fixed on the roof panel (13) or on the link element (20). It is an object of the invention to provide a device for stretching or positioning roof panels where it is simple to mount the traction element on the roof panel. This object is attained in that the one connector (31, 51) and the other connector (12a, 12b, 12c, 50) are releasably connected together.

Abstract: A cover for a foldable convertible top has a highly stretchable outer foil having an inner face, and a foam-plastic core layer bonded over the entire bonding-foil inner face and itself having an inner face. The outer foil can be a one-piece slush-molded foil or it can be highly stretchable and a thin thermoplastic bonding foil can be provided between the outer foil and the core layer.

Abstract: An outside edge of a glass pane and a coextensive inside edge of a frame are connected together by a glass-mount assembly having a T-section outer seal strip fixed to an inner face of one of the edges and having an inwardly projecting T-leg and a U-section inner seal strip fixed to the other edge and forming an outwardly open groove snugly receiving the T-leg, and a plurality of screw fasteners each having a part bearing outward on the inner seal strip and a shank engaged in the T-leg of the inner seal strip. The outer strip is provided with a plurality of inwardly open threaded sleeves each receiving a respective one of the shanks. These sleeves can be part of one or more metal reinforcement profiles imbedded in the outer strip. Alternately the screw fasteners are self-tapping screws and the outer seal strip is formed with a plurality of inwardly open blind bores each receiving a respective one of the screws.

Abstract: A convertible-roof window has an outside edge juxtaposed with an inside edge of an outer frame. An annular molded seal fixed to and extending between the window and frame edges secures the window in the frame and is formed with a plurality of spaced and inwardly open seats. A flexible liner formed with a window hole has an inside edge juxtaposed with the seal. A stiff mounting strip extends along and is fixed to at least a portion of the window-hole inside edge of the liner. Respective outwardly directed mounting tabs unitarily formed with the mounting strip are snugly fitted in the seats. The inside liner edge is folded over and forms an elongated pocket receiving the stiff strip. In addition the liner edge is formed at the pocket with respective holes through which the tabs project. The liner edge is stitched adjacent the strip to close the pocket. This construction is extremely simple and neat.

Abstract: A holder for tools, instruments and the like has a base surface juxtaposed with a countersurface, the base surface being provided with an array of elastically deformable bristles, e.g. on an artificial turf strip cemented to one of the surfaces, for engaging the objects inserted into the holder.

Abstract: A window 3 of the folding top of a convertible, which consists of a transparent flexible plastic material, on its interior side, is provided with a surrounding zipper 2 which, by means of a holding strip 4 and 5, is undetachably fastened to the interior side of a top covering 1 and to the window 3. Furthermore, it is provided on its exterior side with a U-shaped edge bordering 8 made of a rubber-elastic material which, in the installed condition of the window 3, rests sealingly against the edge of the window opening 1' of the top covering 1.
