  • Patent number: 5332392
Abstract: A dental instrument deposit table includes a base member, which has an arrangement for mounting it, and a cover unit which unit includes a deposit surface for receiving the instruments and holders for receiving handpieces, such as handpieces having hoses and handpieces having cables secured thereto. The cover unit is removably mounted on the base member, which, preferably, has a catch member for grasping a rear edge of the cover member and a catch hook for engaging a front lower edge of the cover member to hold the cover member on the base member. Handles are preferably provided on the cover member, which handles can be used for positioning the instrument deposit table.

  • Patent number: 5321990
Abstract: A sensor measures the flow velocity and/or the volumetric flow rate of a fluid flowing in a pipe and in a measuring tube mounted therein, and includes a bluff body disposed in the conduit of the measuring tube, said bluff body being designed to generate Karman vortices and having a blind hole which is in communication with the conduit via passages formed in the bluff body, a vortex sensor inserted into the blind hole and having an electrodynamic transducer responsive to the vortexinduced pressure fluctuations, said electrodynamic transducer supporting a first oscillating body being a sensor sleeve which is deflectable by the pressure fluctuations, has a first cavity sealed from the fluid, and supports a permanent magnet within the cavity, and a second oscillating body movably disposed within the cavity so as to be isolated from the pressure fluctuations and supporting at least one coil located opposite the permanent magnet.

  • Patent number: 4222225
Abstract: An open-end spinning machine is provided which includes a plurality of commonly driven spinning units arranged in side-by-side relationship. Each of the spinning units includes a spinning rotor, an opening device for opening fibers, a fiber feed device for feeding fibers from the opening device to the spinning rotor, and vacuum producing means for generating an air current to act on the fibers to aid in the feeding through the fiber feed device. To accommodate start-up operations and restarting in the event of a shut-down spinning unit, piecing apparatus is provided which includes a thread end return device for returning a thread end into the rotor for piecing onto a fiber ring deposited inside of the rotor and for taking off the pieced thread. In preferred embodiments, the piecing apparatus is equipped with additional devices for controlling the rotor speed and the quantity of fibers fed during the piecing step.

  • Patent number: 4059946
Abstract: In start-spinning a thread, which has to be performed after a condition in which the entire machine has been stopped or after a thread break, the individual working conditions have to be maintained as precisely as possible in order to keep the start-spinning points produced at the same spinning point and at different spinning points as uniform as possible and in order to ensure that they are of sufficient strength. An important criterion in this connection is the size and thickness of the ring of fibers located in the spinning rotor, on which the end of the thread is placed after it has been returned and from which the end of the thread is then drawn off again. This ring of fibers significantly influences the appearance and quality of the start-spinning point of the thread.
