  • Patent number: 4815377
Abstract: A device for engaging and disengaging of blanket cylinders in a printing assembly including two such blanket cylinders and two plate cylinders which are external relative to the blanket cylinder is disclosed. The device comprises a drive and a gear transmission device cooperating with the drive to impart an angular adjustment movement to each of the blanket cylinders. Each blanket cylinder includes an inner and an outer eccentric sleeve each provided with a toothed segment and movable by the gear transmission device in a predetermined direction to engage or disengage the blanket cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4765241
Abstract: A method of providing a normalized indication of the printing ink supply to a printing station of a printing machine, which includes main and ductor roller motors respectively operating at a first and a second speed, comprises generating first and second pulse trains having first and second pulse frequencies respectively proportional to the first and second speeds; forming a ratio of the first and second frequencies at predetermined time intervals; storing the thus formed ratio; and displaying the stored ratio.

  • Patent number: 4198908
Abstract: An ink supplying device which supplies ink to a plate cylinder and thus to a blanket cylinder of a rotary printing press includes a plurality of rollers which are in contact with one another and with the plate cylinder, respectively. The device further includes an ink supply fountain, an ink supply roll and a ductor roll which is displaceable between two positions in one of which it contacts the ink supply roll and is replenished with ink and in the other of which it contacts one of the rollers and delivers the ink thereto. A drive for the ink supply device includes a main drive shaft and a transmission which directly drives the above-mentioned one roller while circumventing the other rollers so that a jolt which occurs upon the contact of the ductor roll with the one roller is not transmitted to the other rollers.

  • Patent number: 4183297
Abstract: A pair of parallel blanket rollers have their ends received in respective eccentrics themselves received in respective spaced-apart holes in a support frame. A pair of plate cylinders each tangentially contacting a respective blanket cylinder are similarly received in respective eccentrics also received in respective holes in the machine support. Each of the holes receiving an eccentric for a respective cylinder is of greater diameter than the respective cylinder so that the cylinders can be mounted in the machine frame by slipping them axially through these holes. A web to be printed is passed between the two blanket cylinders for simultaneous printing on both sides. The plate cylinder to one side of the web being printed and the blanket cylinder to the opposite side lie in one plane and the other two cylinders lie in another plane parallel to but spaced horizontally from the first-mentioned plane.
