Publication number: 20250116073Abstract: A tamping unit for tamping a track has tamping tools arranged in pairs. The tamping tools can be squeezed towards each other by a respective squeezing cylinder. A squeezing piston can be subjected to a hydraulic pressure of a first hydraulic circuit arranged in the respective squeezing cylinder. A vibration piston is assigned to each squeezing cylinder to superimpose a vibration on a squeezing movement. The vibration piston is arranged in a pressure amplifier with a primary cylinder and a secondary cylinder. In this way, vibration generation can be carried out at a lower pressure level.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2022Publication date: April 10, 2025Inventor: Heinz Springer

Patent number: 12104330Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treatment of a ballast track by means of track maintenance machine which comprises a lifting unit, having gripping rollers for gripping a track grid formed of rails and sleepers and lifting drives for lifting the track grid, and a measuring system for comparing to a target position of the track, wherein the lifting unit is set in vibration by means of a vibration exciter and the vibration is transmitted to the track grid, wherein the lifting unit is controlled by means of a control device in such a way that, during a lifting operation, the lifting unit is set in vibration, and the track grid is first lifted to above the target position and subsequently lowered to the target position. By means of the method according to the invention it is possible to carry out in a simple manner a lifting of the track grid with simultaneous stabilization of the track position.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2019Date of Patent: October 1, 2024Assignee: Plasser & Theurer Export von Bahnbaumaschinen Gesellschaft m.b.H.Inventor: Heinz Springer

Publication number: 20240254698Abstract: The invention relates to a method for tamping a plurality of sleepers of a track supported in a ballast bed by means of a plurality of tamping units arranged one behind the other on a machine frame of a track tamping machine with tamping tools opposite each other in pairs, with only one sleeper being tamped by means of the respective tamping unit during a tamping process. In this context, a control device for actuating longitudinal actuators is given a sleeper spacing of the sleepers to be tamped, with the tamping units being positioned towards each other in the longitudinal direction of the machine by means of the longitudinal actuators prior to a tamping process in order to adjust the positions of the tamping units to the given sleeper spacing, and with sleepers not arranged directly one behind the other being tamped during the tamping process.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2021Publication date: August 1, 2024Applicant: Plasser & Theurer Export von Bahnbaumaschinen Gesellschaft m.b.H.Inventors: Josef HOFSTAETTER, Heinz SPRINGER

Patent number: 11105047Abstract: The invention relates to a tamping unit (1) for tamping sleepers (2) of a track (3), having a tool carrier (6) mounted on an assembly frame (12) for vertical adjustment by means of a drive (10), having pairs of two oppositely positioned tamping tools (5) which are squeezable towards one another about a respective pivot axis (4) as well as designed to be set in vibrations by a vibration drive (8). In this, it is provided that a vibration drive (11) is associated with the drive (10), the vibration drive setting the tamping tools in a vibration which is effective vertically.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2017Date of Patent: August 31, 2021Assignee: PLASSER & THEURER EXPORT VON BAHNBAUMASCHINEN GESELLSCHAFT M.B.H.Inventor: Heinz Springer

Patent number: 10829897Abstract: A tamping machine for tamping a track has a lifting-lining unit, connected to lifting and lining drives, for shifting the track into a target position. A vibration generator, which can be set to vibrate, is disposed on the lifting-lining unit. It is thereby possible to tamp a track section in a first working pass and to lower it in a controlled way in an immediately following second working pass with constant impact of vertical load and vibration. Thereafter, the track can be traveled upon with normal speed entirely unhindered.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2016Date of Patent: November 10, 2020Assignee: Plasser & Theurer, Export von Bahnbaumaschinen, Gesellschaft m.b.H.Inventor: Heinz Springer
