  • Patent number: 5699598
Abstract: The machine tool bas a combined slide which is formed of partial slides and is movable in the X direction on two linear guides by means of guide carriages. The two partial slides are supported directly relative to one another by support guides and can be moved in the X direction relative to one another in order to carry out a correcting adjustment or a feed movement. Each partial slide supports a vertical spindle which is movable in the Z direction. A joint multiple turret is associated with the vertical spindles, this multiple turret being outfitted with tools associated with the two tool spindles. The vertical spindles and the partial slides have separate driving units which can be controlled by corresponding control devices in such a way that the vertical spindles and the partial slides are displaceable jointly and synchronously or asynchronously on the one hand and are displaceable relative to one another on the other hand in order to carry out a correcting adjustment or a feed movement.

  • Patent number: 5439431
Abstract: A machining center composed of a plurality of assemblies, with each assembly including a machine base. Each machine base includes a compound slide as well as guides for guiding a movement of the compound slide. A motor driven main spindle is adapted to be attached to the compound slide and is movable along a plurality of axes, with facilities being provided for collecting swarf and coolant. A working area housing is attached to the machine structure with the housing including a container adapted to be mounted on the machine structure as a module to house control elements and power supply. Openings are provided for enabling a collection and removal of swarf with additional openings being provided for enabling an accommodation of a storage and transportation unit. A probe is incorporated in a machine control for enabling a checking of machined workpieces, and a sheet metal cover, fastened to the compound slide, includes a hole penetrated by the motor spindle with a spindle attachment.

  • Patent number: 5293793
Abstract: A lathe comprises at least one base unit which is constructed from two machine beds 4, 7. The machine beds are cast as a one-piece unit from reaction resin concrete and carry the bed guides 5, 8 for a spindle box 6 which is displaceable in the direction of the spindle axis 10 and a tool carrier slide 9 with a tool turret 3. The bed guides are at a right angle relative to one another. Each spindle box comprises a projection 15 which has the length of the displacement path of the spindle box 6 and penetrates through a dividing wall 16 at the front end of the displacement path which is arranged at a right angle to the spindle axis 10. The switching axis 11 of the tool turret 3 is arranged at an angle relative to the longitudinal direction of its bed guide 8.

  • Patent number: 5093973
Abstract: The turret for machine tools has a turret disk which is rotatable via a gear unit and can be positioned in determined rotational angle positions, wherein the gear unit also serves to drive a tool drive shaft. A plurality of tool holding devices are provided on the turret disk so as to be distributed on the circumference including a base part and a tool holder which is displaceable relative to the base part vertically relative to the turret axis and adjustable. A feed gear unit is provided in the base part for the tool holder, wherein the feed gear unit can be coupled with the tool drive shaft. The tool holder and accordingly the tool carried by it can accordingly be adjusted in the radial direction.
