  • Patent number: 4393399
Abstract: Apparatus and method for electronically retouching color images reproductions in which the color signals are generated by means of scanning image point by image point and by trichromatic master scanning and then the signals are digitized and the digital color values of the individual color components are stored in a storage medium and the stored color values are then changed by identifying the coordinates of the image points to be changed in the color image and simultaneously determining the coordinate identification and the locally dependent correction values for the digital color values of the color components and then changing the digital color values by applying correction values at the correction locations so as to obtain the retouched color values.

  • Patent number: 4363037
Abstract: An apparatus and a process for the recording of an image free of any line structure includes sensing an image along a set of successive scanning lines, converting light values of the scanning lines into electrical signals, processing the electrical signals, and converting the processed electrical signals into a set of successive recorded lines, predetermined groups of recorded lines corresponding to selected scanning lines.

  • Patent number: 4317982
Abstract: An orifice for coupling a highly-evacuated electron beam gun to a rotating print form cylinder for engraving is provided such that the gun has a rigid cover with an opening for the electron beam at its end facing the print form cylinder and a flexible band is arranged at the cover which partially surrounds the print form cylinder. The band is pivoted at the cover and at least one of the pivot points is elastically designed and pivoting occurs with the aid of springs which are adjustable with respect to the spring force.

  • Patent number: 4206475
Abstract: A process of obtaining digital data for color components of a color image includes the steps of quantizing color-processor derived signals to obtain first and second raster signal scans, wherein each of the raster signal scans has a multiplicity of raster spots spaced apart from one another at first and second predetermined distances. The first and second distances of the first raster signal scan correspond substantially to the second and first distances of the second raster signal scan, respectively. Only the raster signal scans corresponding to the color-processor obtained signals in the first and second memory segments, respectively, are stored.

  • Patent number: 4151563
Abstract: An arrangement for the recording of rastered half tone pictures, in which each covering dot is formed in a raster field, with the size of the dot being dependent upon the light directed on different portions of the raster field, by a plurality of individual light beams coordinated in a line and focused on the recording medium by objective lens means, in which an optical element is disposed in the beam path to such objective lens means to refract light in the direction of said line, with such optical element occupying approximately half of the total projection cross section of all of the component light beams, and with the boundary of the projection cross section extending transversely to said line direction of the light beams.

  • Patent number: 4084183
Abstract: A method for the electro-optical reproduction of half-tone pictures in which the picture is subdivided into surface elements having covering spots therein corresponding to a tone value scale, wherein electronic recording data is produced from the surface elements and is stored, wherein by means of electrooptical scanning of a picture signals are obtained and are used to call up the recording data for the reproduction of the picture, the improvement resides in that several raster screens on the picture are formed and the meshes and the angle of rotation of such raster screens are selected in such a manner that an orthogonally oriented parcel screen having a congruent screen structure is obtained, and subdividing the parcels into smaller orthogonally oriented surface elements and obtaining recording data from such surface elements.

  • Patent number: 3975761
Abstract: A method for the reproduction of an image pattern disposed on a substantially nonuniformly driven scanning drum, wherein the image pattern is photo-electrically scanned point-by-point and line-by-line to generate an image pattern signal having an analog relationship to the image pattern and the image pattern signal is used to record on at least one recording drum driven substantially nonuniformly and independently of the scanning drum, features generating a scanning timing signal in synchronism with the rotational movement of the scanning drum, converting the image pattern signal to a digital signal in synchronism with the scanning timing signal, storing the digital signal in a storage unit measure-by-measure in synchronism with the scanning timing signal, generating a recording timing signal in synchronism with the rotational movement of the recording drum, reading out the digital signal from the storage unit measure-by-measure in synchronism with the recording timing signal, and, thereafter, driving at leas
