  • Patent number: 7325158
Abstract: A method for operating a data processing system and a redundancy data processing unit for executing the method is disclosed. Two or more active data processing units are assigned to each redundancy data processing unit. The redundancy data processing unit stores a copy of the active data stock of each active data processing unit assigned to it. Each of the active data processing units periodically ascertains changes in its current active data relative to the copy of its active data stored in the redundancy data processing unit and transfers correction data describing any changes. By means of the transferred correction data, the redundancy data processing unit updates its stored copy of the active data and, in the event of the failure of an assigned active data processing unit, assumes the function of the failed data processing unit based upon its stored data copy from the failed data processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20030030665
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of operating a first user interface module which can generate first output commands for outputting a first user interface at output means and receive input commands related to the first user interface. The invention further relates to a (second) user interface module and to intermediate modules for carrying out the method, and to a network management system or a computer of a network management system which are equipped with such a user interface module and/or intermediate module.

  • Publication number: 20020042721
Abstract: The invention concerns a network management client, a network management system and a process for supporting the management and monitoring of a communication network. The network management client enables an operator to monitor and manage the communication network by accessing one or more of the network management servers of the network management system, to which a network management area with a set of assigned network elements is assigned. For each of its client applications, at any one time the network management client determines two or more server applications of various network management servers that are assignable to the client application. The network management client then dynamically selects one or more server applications from the server applications assigned to the client application, and initiates a dialogue between the client application and the selected server application or server applications.

  • Publication number: 20020042822
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for operating a data processing system, as well as this data processing system, a data processing unit, a data processing unit, and a redundancy data processing unit for executing the method. Two or more active data processing units are assigned to each of the redundancy data processing unit. Each redundancy data processing unit stores a copy of the active data stock of each active data processing unit assigned to it. Each of the two or more active data processing units periodically ascertains the change in its current active data in relation to the copy of its active data stored in the assigned redundancy data processing unit and transfers to the assigned redundancy data processing unit correction data describing this change.

  • Patent number: 5586783
Abstract: A hybrid gas generator includes a pyrotechnic gas generator joined to a high-pressure vessel which is sealed with a sealing disk composed of a substance which chemically reacts with propellant gas produced in use so that the sealing disk is opened with an advantageously reduced acoustic pressure. The propellant gas is chemically reactive and is produced from a propellant composition which is present in a surplus amount and which is composed of a propellant which is oxidizable and at least one oxidant for oxidizing the propellant. The propellant gas attacks the sealing disk chemically and thermally, and continuously burns through it to release the gas from the high-pressure vessel into a mixing chamber in the pyrotechnic gas generator.

  • Patent number: 5024395
Abstract: The invention relates to a stepping mechanism for rotary motions with a driven switching wheel (9) which comprises at least one wheel-side stop (10), with an escapement mechanism having at least one pawl (12) which cooperates with said wheel-side stop, and with an actuating device (3, 17) for the pawl. Pursuant to the invention, a miniaturizable stepping mechanism is provided which is of a simple design and which permits reliable positioning of the switching wheel into preselected individual rotational positions. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the escapement mechanism of the stepping mechanism comprises a brake (20) displaceable under the action of force, with a run-up edge (21) lying in the region of each pawl (12) on to which the wheel-side stop (10) runs up before striking the pawl (12) to thereby displace the brake.

  • Patent number: 4351479
Abstract: A jet engine comprises a housing which defines a combustion chamber section, a narrowed diameter neck thrust nozzle section and an outwardly diverging portion which includes a part of the thrust nozzle section end in an extension outwardly from the thrust nozzle section. The outer end of the extension or the continuation of the thrust nozzle ends in a discharge opening for thrust gases and the vector of these thrust gases is controlled by control fluid which is selectively added into the divergent section at a location along its length such that it will be added in a selected narrow thrust jet zone in which the internal pressure on the nozzle edge of the thrust jet attains the ambient pressure or even drops below it.

  • Patent number: 4006755
Abstract: The converter comprises a plurality of series-connected bistable fluidic elements each having a supply input, two outputs separated by a jet splitter, and two conical inputs. The outputs of each bistable fluidic element are connected to respective control inputs of the next preceding bistable element. Feedback conduits are branched off the outputs of the last fluidic element and connected to the control inputs of the first fluidic element. The feedback conduits are closed or cleared by an electromagnetically operated valve which opens in the direction of fluid flow through the then blocked feedback conduit responsive to a signal from an electric control circuit.

  • Patent number: 3942559
Abstract: The converter includes a pressure fluid operated, bistable fluidic element, n the form of a fluid oscillator, having a pressure fluid supply inlet opening into an interaction chamber, two outlets extending downstream from the interaction chamber to the exterior and diverging in direction at an acute angle, two control inlets communicating with the interaction chamber, and a magnetic system actuated by electric input signals and influencing the control pressure in the control inlets to deviate the pressure fluid from one outlet to the other outlet. Respective feedback conduits are branched from the outlets to respective associated control inlets. Valve arrangements are selectively actuable by the magnetic system to close or open the feedback conduits. In one embodiment of the invention, a single valve is provided in the form of an armature of the magnetic system. In another embodiment of the invention, each control inlet has a respective valve therein in the form of an armature of the electromagnetic system.
