  • Patent number: 10163345
Abstract: A method for providing an event message indicative of an imminent event for a vehicle. In a first step, a first event message and a second event message are initially received. The first event message represents a signal output by a first mobile terminal device in response to the imminent event; and the second event message represents a signal output by a second mobile terminal device in response to the imminent event. In a further step, an aggregated event message is generated on the basis of the first event message and the second event message. A step follows for ascertaining a plausibility value to check the plausibility of the aggregated event message. Finally, the aggregated event message and the plausibility value are output. The aggregated event message and the plausibility value represent a signal that is receivable from at least one mobile playback device.

  • Patent number: 9111446
Abstract: Method for the output of text information via a display in a driver information system in a motor vehicle is provided, the display having a predetermined display capacity, the extent of the information to be output being adapted to the capacity of the display, and the text information or the information elements to be output being divided into at least two components each. The information or information elements are output to the full extent if allowed by the display capacity, and an abbreviation is output for at least one component of an item of information or an information element to be output if the capacity of the display is not sufficient for output of the complete information or a complete unit of information.

  • Patent number: 8612144
Abstract: In order to provide a method for operating a navigation device, which also receives TMC data using two tuners for ascertaining an optimum travel route, using which an optimal travel route is ascertainable using the largest amount of TMC data possible, after a first search by the second tuner, the TMC data found are compared with those of the first tuner and to use the second tuner for searching for another transmitter having other TMC data. Furthermore, a navigation device of an appropriate design is provided.

  • Patent number: 8463542
Abstract: A method for the localization of a certain route section from a first digitized map in a second digitized map. An origin root point is established with regard to a route section in the first map, and the coordinates of this origin root point are determined. Starting from the origin root point, an origin tree structure is generated from a plurality of branches. A reference root point is established in the second map in the vicinity of the coordinates of the origin root point, and in a similar way, a reference tree structure is generated, starting from the reference root point, from a plurality of branches on which tree points are situated in such a way that they correspond in each case to a point of a traffic route in the second map.

  • Patent number: 8060496
Abstract: To generate appendices which uniquely reference an object geographically, a tree of possible paths is generated. The paths are evaluated in accordance with predefined criteria, which are suited for use as termination criteria, at the time the paths are formed. Of the remaining paths, at least that one is coded as an appendix which best fulfills at least one of the criteria.

  • Patent number: 7925667
Abstract: A method, a data format, an encoding device, a decoding device and a system for encoding, for decoding and/or for transmitting location information, the location information including both locating information and description information, a data packet separately containing locating information and description information, and the data packet containing assignment information for assigning at least a part of the locating information to at least a part of the description information.

  • Publication number: 20100312463
Abstract: A method for the localization of a certain route section from a first digitized map of a traffic-route network in a second digitized map of the traffic-route network. In the method of this type, an origin root point is established with regard to a route section in the first map, and the coordinates of this origin root point are determined. Starting from the origin root point, an origin tree structure is generated from a plurality of branches, on which tree points are situated in such a way that they correspond in each case to a point in a traffic route in the first map. • Publication number: 20040059745
Abstract: To generate appendices which uniquely reference an object geographically, a tree of possible paths (A . . . E) is generated. The paths are evaluated in accordance with predefined criteria, which are suited for use as termination criteria, already at the time the paths are formed. Of the remaining paths, at least that one is coded as an appendix which best fulfills at least one of the criteria.
