  • Patent number: 5979292
Abstract: In a method of operating an electromechanically actuatable pneumatic brake booster, an electromagnet which actuates a sealing seat of its control valve is energized in an interval by a short current pulse of maximum current strength with a subsequent ramp-like current rise, and the current being furnished to the electromagnet is decreased when a fixed value of the pressure that prevails in a master brake cylinder connected downstream of the brake booster is reached. When the hydraulic pressure introduced into the master brake cylinder reaches a nominal value, the current being furnished to the electromagnet is supplied by a pressure controller which maintains the hydraulic pressure constant.

  • Patent number: 5927821
Abstract: A hydraulic automotive vehicle brake system with an actuating assembly that is attached to the splashboard of the automotive vehicle and is operable by the vehicle brake pedal. In order to reduce the possibility of risk to the driver during a collision (especially a rear end collision), the present invention provides a system which simulates an increase volume requirement of the brake system, thus permitting increased actuating travel of the actuating assembly.

  • Patent number: 5605088
Abstract: A vacuum brake power booster for automotive vehicles includes a booster housing whose interior is subdivided into a vacuum chamber and a working chamber by a moveable wall. A control housing carries the moveable wall and accommodates a control valve which controls a pressure differential acting upon the moveable wall. The control valve has at least two sealing seats cooperating with an elastic valve member and is operable by an actuating rod. One of the sealing seats is operable, irrespective of the actuating rod, by an electromagnet whose armature is in force-transmitting interaction with one of the sealing seats. An electrical switching apparatus is also included, the control signals of which influence the current supply of the electromagnet thereby enabling its deactivation. The switching apparatus are operable by a relative movement between a valve piston and the control housing.

  • Patent number: 5460074
Abstract: A vacuum brake power booster for automotive vehicles having control valve which is operable, irrespective of an actuating rod displacing a valve piston (9), by an electromagnet which actuates a third sealing seat thereby ventilating the working chamber. To minimize the independent actuating force generated by the electromagnet the electromagnet, of the present invention, is rigidly connected to the valve piston, and is arranged to be slidable in the control housing so that the third sealing seat is synchronously movable with the valve piston.

  • Patent number: 4901626
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic power booster, in particular for the actuation of a master cylinder in a hydraulic brake system for motor vehicles. The booster comprises a pressure fluid source, a control device for the control of the pressure level in a booster pressure chamber, an actuating element for the actuation of the control device which actuating element is acted upon by an input force, a converting device for the conversion of the hydraulic pressure into a translatory force which converting device is acted upon by a pressure fluid, and a force transmission element which, preferably is an operating rod for a tandem master cylinder. A semi-rigid force transmission element is arranged in the structure for the transmission of force from the actuating element to the force transmission element in order to obtain a two-stage effect.

  • Patent number: 4486261
Abstract: An apparatus for the application of an adhesive film strip about the edge of a shaped part of sheet metal comprises a pair of application roller which rolls on the adhesive tape about the metal sheet edge, imparting to the strip a U-shaped cross section. The adhesive film strip is originally on a carrier tape and is on a storage reel from which it is drawn off by conveying rollers. After being separated from the carrier tape, the adhesive film strip is fed via free-wheeling pre-folding rollers to a pair of application rollers, and the carrier tape is removed by means of further conveying rollers. The pair of application rollers and the pre-folding rollers can be swivelled together about an axis extending parallel with the shafts of the application rollers, and are at the same time resiliently displaceable in the direction of this axis. The distance of the application roller shafts from the said swivelling axis is adjustable in order to achieve a leading or a trailing run.

  • Patent number: 4464893
Abstract: On the main frame (1) of the ring spinning machine a box-shaped frame (11) is supported, which is used for exchangeably and loosely taking up storage devices (14), which can be lined up in a row. The storage devices (14) on their lower side are provided with a plurality of suspension devices (16) for taking up the roving bobbins (10). The frame (11) also is used as a rail arrangement for a transporting carriage (15), which can, using suitable elevator devices (17,18), and along its movement from one end of the machine to the other, take up at least one plate-shaped storage device (14) with empty roving bobbins (10), and can deposit at this location a plate-shaped storage device (14) with full roving bobbins (10).These measures permit complete automation of the exchange of roving bobbins on the machine.
