    Abstract: An overload release clutch includes a bearing for receiving the load of a drive flange on a cylindrical boss. The bearing has a first row of ball bearings disposed between an upper edge of the boss and a first curved flange and a second row of ball bearings disposed between a lower edge of the boss and a second curved flange. The curved flanges are formed on the inner most portion of the drive flange, the first one facing the upper edge and the second one facing the lower edge.

    Abstract: A roll feed apparatus has first and second rolls designed for cooperation with each other in clamping therebetween a sheet material such as to intermittently feed the same. The apparatus also has a release/brake device having first and second braking members which temporarily fix the sheet when the sheet is unclamped by the first and second rolls. The apparatus further has an adjusting device including a pivot member adapted to move, when it pivots, the first roll towards and away from the second roll thereby adjusting the gap between two rolls. The release/brake device has a braking position adjusting arm extending in the direction of feed of the sheet and pivotally secured to the pivot member at a position adjacent the path of feed, and an adjusting plate pivotally secured to the pivot member. The second braking member is provided on one end of the braking position adjusting arm.

    Abstract: A roll feed apparatus for intermittently feeding a sheet-like blank material to successive work stations has a pair of sector rolls adapted to be driven by an oscillation driving device in synchronism with each other such as to clamp the material therebetween and feed the same intermittently in one direction, by virtue of a driving connection device which drivingly connects the rolls to the oscillation driving device. The apparatus further has a roll release device adapted to move the rolls away from each other when the rolls are oscillated in the directions counter to the feeding directions thereby releasing the sheet-like blank material from the clamping force.

    Abstract: A torque limiter includes a rotational driving member and a driven member aligned along the common axis. A plurality of axially extended arcuate recesses are formed on the outer periphery of an interlocking ferrule fitted over a rotational driving member, and also a plurality of radially extended grooves, matched with the arcuate recesses of the interlocking ferrule, are formed on the inner periphery of an interlocking ferrule fitted over a driven member opposed to the driving member. In each of the radial grooves, there is fitted a torque-transmitting steel ball in such a manner that it can only move radially and rotate about its own axis while it is confined in motion in the revolving and axial directions. As long as they transmit torque less than a preset critical level, these balls are biased diametrally inward by an elastic pressure means so that the rotational driving member and the driven member are integrally driven together.

    Abstract: A sheet material feeding apparatus of a roll type includes a main feed roll and an auxiliary roll adapted to cooperate with the main roll to feed a sheet material in a clamped state on a step-by-step basis. The main roll is mounted on an output shaft of an indexing drive unit to be intermittently rotated in one direction. The auxiliary roll is supported swingably toward and away from the main roll. An adjusting mechanism is provided for adjusting the clamping force applied to the sheet material by the auxiliary roll. A release mechanism is provided for releasing the auxiliary roll from the cooperation with the main roll.

    Abstract: A torque limiter comprises a driving member and a driven member disposed concentrically with the former. A drive-transmitting body made fast on the driving member has on its outer periphery several radial grooves which, in turn, hold torque-transmitting rollers of a size adapted to fit in the grooves. The upper and lower peripheral surfaces of the rollers are kept in pressure contact with the under end surface of a torque-transmitting-roller-supporting ring above the drive-transmitting body and with arcuate recesses formed on the upper surface of a driven member which is revolvably supported on the upper end surface of the lower portion of the driving member through a thrust bearing ring. A torque-spring-supporting sleeve is threadedly engaged with the outer periphery of the upper mounting portion of the driving member and is loaded with elastic pressure means in the form of torque springs.

    Abstract: An indexing drive apparatus comprises a cam assembly connected to a drive source, a cam follower turret adapted to follow the rotation of the cam assembly to be swung, a turret shaft having the turret assembly fixedly mounted thereon and adapted to be rotated in an oscilatory manner in correspondence to the swinging movement of the turret, an output shaft extending in parallel with the turret, and interlocking unit for operatively connecting the turret shaft and the output shaft. The interlocking unit includes a first swing arm secured to the turret shaft, a slide member supported in the first arm slidably in the axial direction thereof, a second swing arm secured to the output shaft, a connecting member pivotally connecting the slide member to the second swing arm, and adjusting means provided in association with the slide member for varying the ratio of a swing angle of the second swing member to that of the first swing arm by adjusting the position of the slide member relative to the first arm.
