  • Patent number: 10256879
Abstract: Components, systems, and methods for reducing location-dependent destructive interference in distributed antenna systems operating in multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) configuration are disclosed. Interference is defined as issues with received MIMO communications signals that can cause a MIMO algorithm to not be able to solve a channel matrix for MIMO communications signals received by MIMO receivers in client devices. These issues may be caused by lack of separation (i.e., phase, amplitude) in the received MIMO communications signals. Thus, to provide amplitude separation of received MIMO communications signals, multiple MIMO transmitters are each configured to employ multiple transmitter antennas, which are each configured to transmit in different polarization states. In certain embodiments, one of the MIMO communications signals is amplitude adjusted in one of the polarization states to provide amplitude separation between received MIMO communications signals.

  • Patent number: 9787400
Abstract: A method and system implementations thereof include receiving data from a passive optical network (PON) outside a building; wirelessly transmitting the received PON data to inside the building; and applying the received PON data to a network inside the building. The data received outside the building is from an optical line termination (OLT). The PON data wireless transmitted inside the building may be applied to an optical line terminal (ONT) inside the building. Alternatively, the wirelessly received PON data may be converted to Ethernet format and applied to a user interface and/or a gateway interface all inside the building. The wireless transmission of PON data may be via a first transceiver mounted on a surface outside the building and a second transceiver mounted on a surface inside the building. The surface may be a corridor, a window, a door, a walls and a façade.

  • Patent number: 9594223
Abstract: Opto-electrical connection systems including opto-electrical cables providing configurable connectivity between electrical devices having electrical interfaces are disclosed. Related assemblies and methods are also disclosed. By using configurable connection assemblies having at least one configurable connection device adapted to accept optical connectors of optical fibers of opto-electrical cables, many electrical devices having electrical interfaces may be configurably connected. For example, the configurable opto-electrical connection system may be configured to provide more bandwidth and/or connect electrical devices with less power consumption than would be associated with conventional copper cabling solutions. In this manner, the high bandwidth, lower power consumption, and long distance signal capability of optical fibers may be provided to connect electronic devices which were originally designed with electrical interfaces meant to be connected with copper cables.
