  • Publication number: 20060252660
Abstract: An acrylic acid ester polymer having improved characteristics and oleaginous compositions containing the acrylic acid ester polymer. The acrylic acid ester polymer includes a copolymer derived from a first acrylic acid ester monomer having from about 1 to about 4 carbon atoms, a second acrylic acid ester monomer having from about 12 to about 14 carbon atoms, and a third acrylic acid ester monomer having from about 16 to about 20 carbon atoms. The copolymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 20,000 to about 100,000 daltons and contains no more than about 1 weight percent unreacted monomer.

  • Publication number: 20050090410
Abstract: Lubricant compositions having improved load carrying capacity comprising an extreme pressure compound comprising a sulfur-containing compound, a load carrying capacity enhancing combination comprising a hydrocarbylamine compound and an alkylphosphorothioate compound, a friction modifier compound, and a diluent or base oil as applicable. These lubricant compositions can be used as industrial oils well-suited for the demands of geared device applications, such as in wind turbine gear-boxes and automotive gears and axles.

  • Publication number: 20050090409
Abstract: Lubricant compositions having improved anticorrosion performance comprising an extreme pressure compound comprising a sulfur-containing compound, an antiwear compound comprising a phosphorous-containing compound, an alkylene amine friction modifying compound, a dispersant compound containing basic nitrogen, and a diluent or base oil as applicable, wherein any of compounds other than the diluent or base oil can be the same or different compounds. These lubricant compositions provide improved anticorrosion resistance and fatigue performance, which prolongs service lives of lubricated parts, especially those used in outdoor applications.
