  • Publication number: 20230091349
Abstract: User equipment (UE) may determine a probability that a cellular network may allocate a resource block to the UE having a frequency that, when a cellular transmitter of the UE transmits a radio frequency (RF) signal using the resource block, a harmonic signal may be generated that interferes with a global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) signal received by a GNSS receiver of the UE. The probability may be determined based on a number of factors that may impact resource block allocation, including a location of the UE, a current date and/or time, a historical allocation of resource blocks (which may be crowdsourced), a client type associated with a signal to be transmitted, a signal environment at the UE, real world conditions, and so on. Based on the probability, the UE may selectively perform a mitigation procedure or transmit an RF signal without performing the mitigation procedure.

  • Patent number: 11212803
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for synchronizing the switching of different wireless platforms to different portions of a frequency band. An embodiment, at a first wireless platform, operates by receiving a band switch request message from a second wireless platform, wherein the band switch request message comprises a band switch delay period for the second wireless platform. The embodiment calculates a band switch time based on a band switch delay period for the first wireless platform and the band switch delay period for the second wireless platform. The embodiment transmits a band switch accept message comprising the band switch time to the second wireless platform. The embodiment sets a first filter to operate on a second portion of the frequency band based on the band switch time. The embodiment then operates on the second portion of the frequency band.

  • Patent number: 8009761
Abstract: A “unified” modulator for multiple modulation schemes (e.g., GMSK and 8PSK) is described. The waveform for each modulation scheme is generated based on a set of one or more pulse shaping functions. The waveforms for all supported modulation schemes may be generated based on a composite set of all the different pulse shaping functions. The unified modulator includes a filter for each pulse shaping function in the composite set. To generate the waveform for a selected modulation scheme, the set of one or more filters for this modulation scheme is enabled and all other filters are disabled. The outputs from all enabled filters are summed to generate a modulator output. When switching between modulation schemes, a smooth transition may be obtained by (1) providing a suitable data pattern for each filter to be enabled or disabled and (2) generating symbols for the new modulation scheme with an appropriate initial phase.

  • Patent number: 7499506
Abstract: A biasing algorithm, apparatus and method for detecting and modulation format of a received signal used in a mobile phone system implementing EDGE technology that transmits and receives both GMSK and 8PSK modulated signals. The biasing method and apparatus may also estimate the modulation format of bursts of data blocks of a received signal using information gathered and/or results determined during the modulation detection of one or more previous bursts of a data block to bias the modulation detection of a present burst of the same data block. The gathered information during the modulation detection of a previous burst includes either the signal-to-noise ratio or the noise energy information of the previous burst.

  • Publication number: 20040109516
Abstract: A communications system has a demodulator having an output and a time-averaged DC component subtracter unit coupled to the output of said demodulator to subtract a time-averaged DC offset component from the signal at the output of the demodulator.
