  • Patent number: 7524798
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of polyesters which consist of at least one carbohydrate and at least one carboxylic acid, and mixtures thereof, as a hydraulic fluid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2002
Date of Patent: April 28, 2009
Assignee: Sudzucker Aktiengesellschaft Fuchs Petrolub AG

  • Patent number: 7220710
Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions which comprise mixtures of open-chain and cyclic molecules of the sugar alcohols D-sorbitol and D-mannitol which have been esterified with at least one carboxylic acid, processes for preparing these compositions and the use of this composition as lubricant or hydraulic liquid.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2002
Date of Patent: May 22, 2007
Assignees: Sudzucker Aktiengesellschaft, Fuchs Petrolub AG
Inventors: Markwart Kunz, Jörg Kowalczyk, Alireza Haji Begli, Rainer Kohlstrung, Manfred Harperscheid, Angela Kesseler, Rolf Luther, Theo Mang, Christian Puhl, Helena Wagner
  • Patent number: 7101831
Abstract: The invention relates to novel compositions of matter which may advantageously be used as lubricants or pressure transfer media or else for functional liquids and lubricant additives. The lubricants according to the invention are the reaction products of an electro-philic addition of linear or branched, aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acids, carboxylic anhydrides, carbonyl halides or novel neoacids to the double bonds of fatty acids, esters thereof and/or of other fatty acid derivatives and also of synthetic esters. Owing to their increased oxidation resistance compared to the starting materials and also their low toxicity, the novel class of synthetic esters based on oleochemicals may find use in novel environmentally compatible lubricants, pressure transfer systems, functional liquids and lubricant additives.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 19, 2001
Date of Patent: September 5, 2006
    Assignee: Fuchs Petrolub AG
Inventors: Wolfgang Hoelderich, Ulrich Keller, Jutta Fischer, Patrick Weckes, Theo Mang, Rolf Luther, Helena Wagner
