  • Patent number: 6484100
Abstract: A seismic surveying method and system are disclosed. The method provides a remote display representative of the quality of the coverage of a seismic survey. The method includes progressively building up at the site of the survey a first data base of data required for said display and relating to the area being covered by the survey, concurrently transmitting the data being used to build up the first data base via satellite link to a first remote location, to build up a duplicate of the first data base at said first remote location, providing access to said first remote location for the receipt of display requests from further remote locations, and in response to such requests, processing the data of said duplicate data base to provide processed data for producing said display, and compressing said processed data and transmitting it to such a further remote location for reconstitution and display thereat.

  • Publication number: 20020120842
Abstract: In one aspect, according to a first form of the invention, a method for accessing cryptographic material includes creating cryptographic material, by a first Cryptographic-related application programming interface (“API”), in response to a request by a first application compatible with the first Cryptographic-related API. A supplemental aspect of the cryptographic material is created by a supplemental method for the first cryptographic API. The supplemental aspect includes information for rendering the cryptographic material compatible with a second Cryptographic-related API. The cryptographic material is then accessed for a second application by the second Cryptographic-related API.

  • Patent number: 5548562
Abstract: A method for the synchronization of systems for seismic surveys, wherein the systems are composed of subsystems and may be land-based or marine, consists in the survey system being supplied with an absolute time standard and in a time code based on the absolute time standard being generated in the survey system. There is further provided at least one programmable event generator in the survey system and this is synchronized with the absolute time standard. The time for a specific event is predetermined on the basis of given parameters and supplied with the time code which corresponds to this time. The time for a determined event is then supplied to the subsystems which are also provided with the absolute time standard. The event can thereby be executed in one or more of the subsystems on the basis of the supplied absolute time standard and a synchronization is obtained with the desired accuracy.
