  • Patent number: 10280377
Abstract: A syngas generator provides a pyrolysis chamber and a steam cracking unit within a heater. A conveyor such as an auger directs input through the pyrolysis chamber where a pyrolysis reaction at about 600 C releases a gas/vapor mixture which is directed through a manifold and through an ejector into the cracking unit which operates at about 1200 C. Syngas from the cracking unit can be cooled, used for co-generation power systems, generate steam, and/or be burned (possibly combusted to generate electricity) with the heat used to heat the heater.

  • Publication number: 20160260337
Abstract: The present invention discloses a portable electric energy teaching aid that can be combined with different energy generation devices. The invention is adapted for students with diverse background knowledge in order to assist the individuals in learning the principles behind electric energy generation and consumption. The energy generated can be conveniently converted and directed to arrays of typical household lamps. The household lamps serve as a meter to indicate the amount of energy consumed. The lamp arrays are arranged in a manner so that the student can directly compare the energy generating capability of each connected energy generation device.

  • Patent number: 4315702
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for aligning the ends of two submerged pipelines to be jointed, the apparatus which is equipped with means for displacing and aligning the pipe ends, is allowed to be displaced relative to the pipe ends and the bottom of the sea during the alignment operation. The restraining force developed when the displacement and alignment means are actuated, is used to displace the frame relative to the base and the pipe ends, so as to allow the frame and the pipe ends to adopt a final position in which the finished aligned pipe ends define a curve having the largest possible radius.

  • Patent number: 4123317
Abstract: A method and apparatus for treating finely divided fibrous pulp with gas without overpressure in a continuous process. The bulk material is substantially continuously supplied to a reactor having one or more supporting floors having apertures of a shape and size which allow the finely divided material to form bridges across the apertures, said apertures also permitting a continuous flow of gas through the bulk material. The bulk material proceeds through the reactor as a consequence of the bridges being broken by breaking arms sweeping along the upper surface of the supporting floors.

  • Patent number: 4094628
Abstract: A rotary drum for treating materials comprises a drum shell having a generally tubular configuration wall and one or more unitary material treating members forming a portion of the wall. In a preferred embodiment, the drum shell comprises a plurality of ring-shaped sections mechanically joined together in axial alignment wherein at least one of the sections has a unitary material treating member forming a portion of the section wall. In typical applications the treating members are cast steel members and the remaining portions of the drum shell are predominantly plate steel. The advantages of this drum include easier fabrication with a reduction in the extent of welding, avoidance of welding in inaccessible locations, elimination of abrupt changes in thickness and, in operation, a reduction of unwanted shearing stresses.

  • Patent number: 4090671
Abstract: A multi-compartment tube mill is disclosed for the grinding of coarse material such as cement clinker in which the tube mill is divided into at least two mill sections each of which includes at least one grinding chamber. An inlet is provided at one end of the tube mill for the coarse material and for ventilating air or gas to ventilate the tube mill and for heat exchange with the material. An outlet is provided at the opposite end of the tube mill for the ground product. Disposed between the two mill sections is a composite diaphragm which defines a separation zone therebetween for removing humidity from the first mill section, and for introducing fresh ventilating air or gas into the second mill section. A method is disclosed for grinding coarse material in the inventive tube mill in which atmospheric conditions are controlled from the inlet to the outlet of the mill.

  • Patent number: 4083500
Abstract: A tube mill is disclosed for drying and grinding moist material which comprises at least one compartment for drying moist material and at least one compartment communicating with the drying compartment for grinding the material. A separating chamber is positioned between the adjacent communicating drying and grinding compartments with means being provided for introducing hot gases and material to the drying compartment so that the material may pass to the separating chamber and the grinding compartment.

  • Patent number: 4008019
Abstract: A displacement pump of the blade or vane type comprising a rotor with two blades, said rotor being eccentrically mounted in the casing of the pump. The rotor with its blades provides for a first pumping effect so as to transport material in first partial volumes with a first pulsating characteristic having two maxima and two minima for every full rotation of the rotor. The rotor is constructed with circumferential sections between the blades, said sections being located inside the smallest circumscribed circle of the cross-section of the pump and uniformly merging with remaining circumferences of the rotor. Between the outlet and the inlet of the pump a pivotable flap is arranged. The flap with its front edge slidingly abuts against said circumferential sections of the rotor for thereby inducing a second pumping effect. This second pumping effect has a second pulsating characteristic also having two maxima and minima for every full rotation of the rotor.
