  • Patent number: 6901639
Abstract: A stentering machine having a horizontal drying zone and a vertical pretreatment zone for a web of material spread out between stentering chains is described. The stentering chains are brought from the vertical position into a horizontal position in a deflection zone. In order to achieve the result, in the case of a stentering chain with deflection about axes that stand vertical to the surface of the web of material, that the chain can be guided through the deflection zone with tilting of the linking pins, without damage to the pin bearings, the deflection pins are configured to be crowned elements. The deflection bolt bearings are shaped to correspond to the crowning of the pins.

  • Patent number: 6868592
Abstract: A stentering machine having a horizontal drying zone and a vertical pretreatment zone for a strip of material held spread out between tension chains configured as slide chains is described. The tension chains are brought from the vertical into the horizontal position in a deflection zone. In order to achieve the result that the slide pads that carry the tension chain, in each instance, make area contact with the related support guideways both in the horizontal, level region and in the curved region of the guide rails, the slide surfaces of the supporting slide pads that are affixed to the chain are divided into three consecutive zones, in the transport direction, namely a level edge zone, a curved center zone, and a second level edge zone.

  • Patent number: 6865783
Abstract: A stentering machine having a drying zone and a pretreatment zone for coating a web of material on both sides and drying it is described. One aim consists of deflecting a web of material coated in the vertical position and stretched out in width, in order to introduce it into a conventional flat tenter frame, without damaging the coating. According to the invention, the web of material is needled into a pair of stentering chains having a predetermined chain pitch, and deflected from the vertical into the horizontal position on such a large arc that the difference between the sum of the chain pitches that form the arc chords and the arc length itself becomes small enough to be ignored.

  • Publication number: 20050000113
Abstract: A textile machine having circulating air heating by means of gas-heated heat exchangers, having flame or meander tubes arranged parallel to one another in a suction space, crosswise to the air stream of the latter, and burners switched ahead of them, is described. In order to be able to work with two burners in the case of high required heat output, and nevertheless to heat the air stream drawn in by the heat exchanger equally, in the case of indirect circulating air heating, everywhere in the stream cross-section, two burners, each having a subsequent tube heat exchanger, are each assigned to one half of the suction space, whereby the heating tubes of the two heat exchangers reach over the entire suction space width, in the main part of the suction space, crosswise to its air stream, but extend only over the suction space half assigned to the burner, in each instance, at least in a segment of the circulating air stream path in the suction space.

  • Patent number: 6073368
Abstract: Described is a drying and/or fixing device for blowing at a textile material web, which is transported in its longitudinal direction in the broad-stretched condition through at least one treatment field and blown at there from blowboxes with a treatment gas. In order to assure that the treatment gas flowing off from the material web--viewed over the width of the material web--is discharged everywhere with the same suction pull, provision is made with the help of flow guide means associated with the back sides of the blowboxes that the treatment gas flowing back upon treatment of the material web can only flow off tangentially on the longitudinal edges of the treatment field corresponding with the edges of the material web.

  • Patent number: 5236080
Abstract: A bushing liner is provided for a bushing of an endless chain of a textile machine traveling web transport assembly of the type which supports a web in tension during transport of the web through a textile handling process such as, for example, a web drying process. The endless chain includes a plurality of links, each respective adjacent pair of the links being interconnected to one another by a pin and each pin being rotatably supported by a bushing mounted to one of the links. The bushing liner of the present invention is disposed intermediate a bushing and its associated pin and includes first and second circumferential ends normally angularly spaced from one another by a slot. The slot extends from one axial end to the other of the bushing liner and permits angular movement of the first and second circumferential ends toward and away from one another to thereby permit the bushing liner to accommodate internal and external forces exerted thereon.

  • Patent number: 5203094
Abstract: A textile drying machine includes upper and lower distribution housings for applying streams of drying fluid to a traveling web of textile material from above and below the traveling web. The pair of distribution housings are each mounted to the floor on the same lateral side of the traveling web at a lateral spacing from one another and each provides a distribution opening which extends over the entire extent of the traveling web being treated. Each distribution housing includes an intake conduit for the intake of exhaust drying fluid which has been subjected to a heat exchange operation in which the heat content of the drying fluid is restored.

  • Patent number: 5095695
Abstract: A method and apparatus for converting heat energy of hot exhaust gases from a treatment chamber of a textile machine into electrical energy is provided. Hot gases exhausted from a treatment chamber of a textile machine of the type which uses heated gases such as, for example, heated air, are conducted to the compressor, combustion chamber and gas turbine assembly of an electric generator for driving of the electric generator. The exhaust gases can thereafter be conducted to a heat exchanger for releasing heat to be returned to the textile machine for use in its operation.

  • Patent number: 4875942
Abstract: A method of cleaning residual dye material from rollers of a textile fabric drying oven during passage of a travelling cloth lead therethrough. The method involves applying a cleaning material to the travelling cloth lead in advance of the oven and rotating the rollers to be cleaned at a surface speed different from the surface speed of the cloth lead to cause a cleaning action of the cloth lead against the rollers. The change in roller speed can be accomplished progressively, either by acceleration or deceleration and can be accomplished on the rollers individually or in sets.
