  • Publication number: 20050067217
Abstract: An exhaust system for use in combination with a combustion engine. The exhaust system includes a silencer having an outer casing that defines an interior and an internal construction within the interior and co-extruded with the outer casing so that the outer casing and the internal construction constitute a one-piece extrusion. The outer casing has a length in a longitudinal direction and a substantially uniform cross-section in a transverse direction. The internal construction has at least one wall that extends the length of the outer casing to define with the outer casing at least two longitudinal chambers within the interior of the outer casing. The wall has a deformed portion and passages through the deformed portion so that the silencer has a path through which gas flows from a first of the two longitudinal chambers and through the passages into the second longitudinal chamber, resulting in noise reduction for the combustion engine.

  • Patent number: 6318037
Abstract: A Window frame including two frame members (1, 2) adapted to mutual locking engagement, between which members a window pane (50) can be secured. One frame member (1) includes a tubular portion (5), into which a screw (3) may, be driven through the second frame member (2). The second frame member (2) further includes an engagement means in the form of a cavity (4), in which the tubular portion (5) may be inserted through an opening in the cavity. The tubular portion (5) is slit in such a manner that it expands for engagement with the engagement means.

  • Patent number: 6210507
Abstract: A method for the manufacture of a plastic window comprising a frame (2) and at least one pane (4a, 4b) of transparent plastic, in which method the pane (4a, 4b) is joined with the frame (2) at an abutment surface (3a, 3b) provided thereon. The joining is performed by welding with laser light (8), and while the welding is performed, an average abutment pressure of at least approx. 2 MPa is provide between the pane (4a, 4b) and the frame (2).

  • Patent number: 5369922
Abstract: A window for insertion into an opening in a wall comprising a first frame which is adapted to abut against the outer face of the wall, a frame member provided with a rebate for a window pane and a second frame with a flange adapted to abut against the inner face of the wall. The frame member is integral with the first frame and adapted to cover the core of the wall, and includes a plurality of pairs of ribs. The ribs of each pair are connected by a strip to form an elongated opening therebetween. The second frame includes a toothed connection device consisting of tongues provided with a toothing and arranged in the longitudinal direction of the frame, the insertion of the window comprising clipping together the two frames from each side of the wall.

  • Patent number: 4726618
Abstract: Deflector apparatus for directing a flow of air downwards along the rear window of a car comprises a curved, elongated deflector plate (5) that is positioned substantially parallel to the rear window with the upper edge of the deflector plate being just above the roof-line (2) of the car and being mounted on the car by means of at least one mounting member. In order to avoid having the mounting members interfere with opening of the rear door (1) of the car and to eliminate the need for drilling of holes in the metal parts of the car, the mounting member (6) is fastened to the glass of the rear window itself, preferably by gluing, so that, without touching the painted metal parts of the car, the deflector plate, will extend above the metal parts of the car and above the rear window (4).

  • Patent number: 4668455
Abstract: Described for use as a key ingredient in an animal control composition and more particularly in an animal repellent composition, is the genus of steroids defined according to the structure: ##STR1## wherein X completes a substituted cyclopentyl moiety and is one of the moieties: ##STR2## wherein Y represents methylene, carbinol or keto; and wherein Z completes a substituted cyclohexyl moiety and is one of the moieties:hydroxycyclohexyl;ketocyclohexyl;ketocyclohexenyl;hydroxyphenyl;cyclohexenyl; orbicyclohexyland wherein the dashed line represents a carbon-carbon single bond or a carbon-carbon double bond. Also described are animal control articles consisting of one or more members of the above mentioned steroid genus and imbedded in a compatible polymer.

  • Patent number: 4451460
Abstract: For repelling elk, hart, roe deer and similar animals from plantations, orchards, road sections etc. one or more natural or synthetic steroids of the type occurring on human skin or hair or in human sweat or urine are used. Also derivatives of these steroids obtainable by subjecting the steroids to air, moisture or micro-organisms may be used. The steroids are combined with a carrier into a repellent unit which may liberate molecules of the repellent substance to the air for maintaining a concentration perceptible to the sense of smell of the animals.
