    Abstract: A chair composed of a seat adapted to be adjusted in height and depth, and a chair body, on which at least one rack rail extending in the direction of vertical adjustment is arranged, which is associated with the seat on which a vertically adjustable holding element runs, which is associated with the seat, the rack rail meshing with a gear wheel mounted on the holding element, and on which a drive element able to be rotated by the gear wheel is arranged. The holding element constitutes a projecting seat holding portion, on which a seat carrying part runs for movement in the direction of depth adjustment.
