  • Patent number: 4201715
Abstract: Process for the anilidization of carboxylic acid esters of the general formula R.sub.1 COOR.sub.2, wherein R.sub.1 is a cycloaliphatic or substituted cycloaliphatic radical with 3-8 C-atoms, preferably 5-6 C-atoms, an aromatic or substituted aromatic radical, preferably a heterocyclic or substituted heterocyclic radical, more particularly an oxygen-containing heterocyclic radical, with 4-5 C-atoms, and R.sub.2 is a hydrocarbon radical with up to 4 C-atoms, preferably 1-2 C-atoms, wherein such esters are reacted in the presence of aniline with equimolar amounts of magnesium dianilide and/or aluminum trianilide in the fluid phase. The products obtained are used as intermediates or directly as pesticides.

  • Patent number: 4129596
Abstract: Process for the continuous preparation of acetoacetamides of the general formulaCH.sub.3 COCH.sub.2 CO--N--R--R',in which R represents alkyl radicals having from 1 - 18 carbon atoms, and R' represents hydrogen atoms and radical R, by reaction of diketene in stoichiometric ratio with amines of the general formula H--N--R--R', in which R and R' have the meaning given above, which consists of carrying out the reaction for a residence time of not more than 15 minutes and at temperatures of at least 60.degree. C under atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 4107002
Abstract: A process for the purification of crude acetic anhydride by continuous fractional distillation, which comprises first introducing the anhydride into an evaporator, thereafter removing from the evaporator the non-distillable components contained in the crude anhydride, then introducing the distillable components of the anhydride in vapor form into about the central section of a fractionating column, withdrawing from the top of the column the low boiling components together with acetic acid, withdrawing near the bottom of the column a high-percentage of pure acetic anhydride, and separating from the sump of the column up to about 8% by weight based on the initial amount of crude acetic anhydride and returning the same to the evaporator.

  • Patent number: 4098819
Abstract: Process for the production of phosphoric acid-dimethylamide-dichloride (A) or phosphoric acid-bis-(dimethylamide)-chloride (B) by reacting phosphorus oxychloride and dimethylammonium chloride at elevated temperature under anhydrous conditions, which comprises heating phosphorus oxychloride with a mixture of dimethylammonium-chloride and A and/or B to temperatures of 130.degree. to 240.degree. C, using per mole of phosphorus oxychloride at least 1 mole of dimethylammonium chloride and optionally distilling off A or B from the reaction mixture. The compounds A and B produced according to the process are valuable intermediate products for the manufacture of pesticides, solvents, and lubricants.

  • Patent number: 4094902
Abstract: Process for the manufacture of phosphoric acid-tris-(dimethylamide) (C) by reacting phosphorus oxychloride and dimethylamine in a molar ratio of 1 to at least 3, under anhydrous conditions and, optionally, under the application of pressure, which comprises carrying out the reaction in two separate process stages, wherein, in the first stage the phosphorus oxychloride and dimethylammonium chloride are heated in a molar ratio of approximately 1 : 1.5, and in the second stage dimethylamine is added to a mixture containing about 1.5 gram atoms of chlorine bonded to phosphorus and consisting of phosphoric acid dimethylamide-dichloride (A) and phosphoric acid-bis-(dimethylamide)-chloride (B) in which the proportion of (A) is not more than 50 mole %, or added to B alone, C is separated off at the end of the amine absorption and the formed dimethylammonium chloride is returned to the first stage.
