Patent number: 6788850Abstract: A configuration for multiplexing and/or demultiplexing the signals of at least two optical wavelength channels, is described. Provided in this case is a grating device having an optical grating, a first optical free beam region and a second optical free beam region. Accordingly, radiation is coupled into and out of the first free beam region via a coupling device which effects a flattening and/or widening of the field distribution of the light coupled in or out, at least in the plane of the first free beam region. This permits a transmission characteristic of the configuration to be flattened.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2002Date of Patent: September 7, 2004Assignee: Infineon Technologies AGInventors: Helmut Albrecht, Ingo Baumann, Gerhard Heise, Zhan Gao

Patent number: 5098146Abstract: This invention is a sliding floor for utility vehicles. The sliding floor consists of longitudinally C-shaped channels disposed at either side of the truck bed and extending parallel to each other. A sliding plate adapted for lengthwise movement to and fro over the floor of the truck is mounted for movement dictated by the channel mounting and acting as race ways for the sliding plate. The sliding plate rests upon rollers interposed between the C-shaped channels which permits the sliding plate to be easily moved inwardly and outwardly of the truck bed. At the back of the sliding floor, stop means are provided to prevent the sliding plate from moving beyond a designated end of the truck bed. A lock is preferably provided that locks the sliding plate in several extended positions. Also support legs are provided to provide surface support for the floor, if desired, when the floor is extended.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 1991Date of Patent: March 24, 1992Inventors: Helmut Albrecht, John Fabing

Patent number: 4353433Abstract: Body noise or mechanical vibrations are damped by a sound or noise damping overing that may be secured permanently or temperarily to the surfaces of a body to be damped in the manner of an adhesive tape. The tape or band type damping covering comprises two layers of platelet elements of highly elastic material interconnected with play, for example by hooks. The layers are so arranged that the platelet elements in one layer are staggered relative to the platelet elements in the other layer. An intermediate layer of a plastic type material is interposed between the two outer platelet layers. The plastic material converts shearing stresses and hence the vibrations into heat. The plastic material may be a gel which absorbs liquid.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1981Date of Patent: October 12, 1982Assignee: Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm Gesellschaft mit beschrankter HaftungInventors: Michael Mohrenstein-Ertel, Helmut Albrecht

Patent number: 4183572Abstract: The present noise damping apparatus is especially intended for damping the noise caused by wheels running on rails. For this purpose there is provided a noise screen connected to at least one surface of the rail wheel in a force transmitting, yet removable manner. The noise screen comprises vibration damping reed members. This screen prevents noise generated by the wheel proper from radiating outwardly and it also acts as a noise absorber for the impact noise propagating in the wheel and other solid bodies.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1977Date of Patent: January 15, 1980Assignee: Messerschmitt-Bolkow-Blohm GmbHInventors: Helmut Albrecht, Oskar Bschorr, Helmut Hassel

Patent number: 4133157Abstract: A damper for sound conducted or propagating in solids is constructed to ecially damp oscillations or vibrations of the bending type particularly in plates, housings, girders, rails, rods, etc. The damper is connected to the structural member to be damped in such a manner that the damping force is taken up by the structure member itself. For this purpose a damping element having a high rigidity against bending is secured longitudinally to a structural member to be damped. The structural member and the element form the damping unit. Due to the high flexural rigidity, the damping element behaves like a solid platform or a fixed point, such that vibrations of the structural member cause a relative motion between the structural member and the damping element. This relative motion provides excellent damping characteristics which may even be improved by placing a viscous damping material between the structural member and the element.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 1976Date of Patent: January 9, 1979Assignee: Messerschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm Gesellschaft mit beschraenkter HaftungInventors: Oskar Bschorr, Helmut Albrecht
