  • Patent number: 4682280
Abstract: An arrangement that is independent of a press for physically simulating the actual movements of transfer rails of a multi-stage press and for reducing periods of stoppage of multi-stage presses during the tool change and the connected setting up of tools, of gripping devices and of the movements of the transfer rails. The arrangement includes a program control for the sequences of movements employing values optimally adjusted at the arrangement, for the adjusting measurements, the acceleration and speed values of the transfer rails, for the tool automation and the active gripper operation which are scanned using program-technology and are processed into a cycle of movements that can be transmitted to the multi-stage press.

  • Patent number: 4651273
Abstract: A pressure control installation for presses in which the individual pressure consuming stations are to be actuated with different pressures. During the setting up of the presses, it is necessary to fetch and display visible for the operator values adjusted during the optimization and interim value. The pressure control units, whose number depends on the number of differing high pressures, are connected by way of an interface component to a stored programmable control SPS. The read-out of the data in the pressure control unit takes place by way of a read-out key whereby a routine is initiated it the SPS during the actuation of the read-out key for the guidance of the operator.

  • Patent number: 4648003
Abstract: A protective circuit arrangement of a motor control for the starting and operation of a motor of a press with a power stage, a current-regulating element and a rotational speed regulating element. Comparator stages are connected to the inputs of the regulating elements for forming the guide magnitudes from the actual current value and the desired current value as well as from the actual rotational speed value and the desired rotational speed value. For suppressing the disconnect signal during the starting phase of the motor, the circuit additionally includes a rotational speed comparator stage, a desired current value memory and a current comparator stage. The desired current value, which stored after the starting phase in the desired current value memory, is compared with the current value in the current comparator stage to produce a motor current interrupt signal in case of an overload current that might lead to a press damage.

  • Patent number: 4330810
Abstract: In automated systems such as press lines or related systems, a control circuit is typically designed to be intrinsically safe in acting on actuators which trigger movements of the presses. The actuators and/or the power amplifiers preceding them are connected to a load voltage supply circuit. In order to prevent unplanned movements during setting-up operations, when the safety circuits are partially disabled, which movements could be caused by a failure (e.g. fusing of a semiconductor component), the actuators and/or the power amplifiers preceding them are driven by the control circuit and are connected to the load voltage supply circuit by means of control keys, which trigger planned movements, via at least one zero-voltage-protected switching element.

  • Patent number: 4232575
Abstract: An arrangement for notching or slotting circular blanks so as to produce stacks of rotor and/or stator laminations for electric machines. At least one slotting machine is provided which in a first direction is adjustable radially with respect to a spatially fixed axis of rotation of a blank support table by way of a separate adjusting drive. The support table for the blanks, constructed as an indexing apparatus, may be driven by a numerically controlled adjusting drive. The at least one slotting machine is movable in a second direction at right angles to the first direction by way of a further adjusting drive. The stacks of lamination produced by the punching arrangement may include spiral slots or notches as well as oblique slots or notches enabling the production of special motors having a cone or tapered armature.

  • Patent number: 4150616
Abstract: A speed controlling arrangement and method for a mechanical press. The press has a crankshaft revolution which can be subdivided in principle into a discharging and charging region and a working region with the speed of the mechanical press being controlled between a maximum admissible speed and a minimum possible speed. The speed of travel of the press ram is controlled so that the speed of the press ram during the press discharging and charging region permits a safe discharging and charging of the press. During the working region, the press ram travels at a maximum permissible speed such that a stoppage of the press between the discharging and charging region and the working region is unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 4120185
Abstract: A control system for controlling operating steps of a press and/or transfer mechanism therefor in dependence upon the position of a drive shaft of a drive mechanism of the press. The system includes a coded pulse generator supplying coded pulses indicative of the position of the drive shaft to a decoder from which decoded pulses are supplied to a control pulse distributor to an amplifying unit and appropriate regulating member for regulation of the operating step. A monitoring unit is also provided for monitoring the operation of the control system.

  • Patent number: 4114489
Abstract: A control arrangement for a dividing apparatus for dividing or cutting continuously fed strip stock of variable thickness. The dividing apparatus includes a drive arrangement for driving a cutting unit in a horizontal and vertical direction with an arrangement being provided for vertically adjusting the height of the cutting unit. A control arrangement is provided which includes a measuring device arranged in the dividing apparatus at a position upstream of the cutting unit, as viewed in the feed direction of the strip stock, with the measuring device dividing an output signal indicative of the measured thickness of the strip stock, which output signal is directed to control elements so as to correlate the speed of the drive arrangement and adjust the height of the cutting unit between minimum and maximum values in correspondence with the measure thickness of the strip stock.

  • Patent number: 4062213
Abstract: A control system for controlling operating steps of a press including a coded pulse generator for providing a coded pulse output in dependence upon the position of a drive shaft of a press drive and a signal generator responsive to the stroke rate of the press for providing an output signal proportional to the stroke rate of the press. A summing unit receives the coded pulse output from the coded pulse generator and the output signal of the signal generator for providing a corrected coded pulse output. A decoding unit is provided for decoding the corrected coded pulse output of the summing unit and for supplying a decoded pulse output to a pulse distributor which provides an output on at least one of a plurality of output paths in accordance with the decoded output of the decoding unit. At least one regulating member for controlling an operating step is coupled to the pulse distributor for receiving an output therefrom in accordance with the position of the drive shaft and the stroke rate of the press.
