Abstract: Method for connecting an IEEE1394 remote device (1) to a cluster of IEEE1394 devices through a wireless link (3) comprising a first wireless device (WBox1) connected to the cluster and a second wireless device (WBox2) connected to the remote device (1), wherein the remote device and the first wireless device for a first wired bus and the device cluster and the second wireless device form a second wired bus. The method comprises the steps of, representing the remote device (1) on the cluster through the first wireless device (WBox1) and representing the devices of the cluster to the remote device (1) through the second wireless device (WBox2), such that the remote device and the devices of the cluster function as if these devices were part of a single IEEE1394 bus.

Abstract: The purpose of this invention is a process for the detection of SCART type connections in a home systems network.This process includes the following steps:a) disactivate video sources connected to the network,b) put video receivers connected to the network on standby,c) send a video signal from a first video source,d) detect switched on video receivers,e) memorize the connection between the said first source and the said switched on video receivers, if any,f) disactivate the first said source, and put switched on video receivers on standby,g) repeat the process starting from step c, with each remaining source.

Abstract: Many devices (in particular white goods or brown goods) in a household may contain a clock. Some systems allow connection of such devices and their related clocks to a common bus or network. The commands for controlling the clocks are in general limited to reading or writing a given time or to broadcasting the time of a given clock to one dedicated device or to the entire system or to a part of the system. In such known systems it is not specified in which manner a clock should react if it receives the time broadcast by another clock. It is possible to initialize all clocks to a given time, but due to tolerances in the different clocks, so achieved synchronization will not be maintained. Regular broadcasting by a special device master clock has the disadvantage of introducing one device with different capabilities. In case there are several master clocks, conflicts may occur and the advantages of a high precision clock will fade away if a lower precision master clock overrides it.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for interfacing between at least two communications buses. The device includes a two-way interface for each of the communications buses, a circuit for comparison of messages received by the interfaces, and a circuit for resolving conflicts of priority between messages overlapping in time so that the conflict resolution circuit authorizes the transmission of the higher priority message through the interface or interfaces to the communications buses from which the higher priority message did not originate.

Abstract: For the selection of the columns of elementary heads of a multitrack recording head, the method makes use of a bipolar pulse with amplitudes +2I/3 and -2I/3. For the selection of lines of elementary heads, it makes use of pulses with an amplitude of +I/3 or -I/3. And for the non-selected lines, it uses a bipolar pulse that is in phase opposition with respect to the column selection pulse and has amplitudes of +I/3 and -I/3.
