  • Patent number: 4268367
Abstract: PCT No. PCT/DE78/00024 Sec. 371 Date May 11, 1979 Sec. 102(e) Date May 11, 1979 PCT Filed Sept. 14, 1978 PCT Pub. No. WO79/00145 PCT Pub. Date Mar. 22, 1979Liquids with a very low conductivity are sterilized by means of anodic oxidation. For the purpose of increasing the conductivity without using chemically soluble additives, a gas which increases the conductivity, in particular CO.sub.2, is fed to the liquid before the anodic oxidation. For the purpose of carrying out the process, a device with an oxidation reactor (1) has a feed line (5), on the inlet side, for the gas to be fed in and a venting means (22) on the outlet side.

  • Patent number: 4134943
Abstract: Porous tablets are produced by mixing the tablet components with a liquid solvent which is inert towards the components of the tablet and which freezes at a temperature from about -30 to +25.degree. C, the solvent constituting about 5 to 80% by weight of the total mixture, introducing the mixture into an inert cooling medium at a temperature low enough to solidify the solvent, pressing the mixture including the solidified solvent into tablets at a temperature below the freezing point of the solvent, and then evaporating the solvent from the tablets. Advantageously the solvent is water, cyclohexane, benzene and/or tert.-butanol, optionally containing alcohol. The tablets readily disintegrate in liquid.

  • Patent number: 4118279
Abstract: Enzyme preparations, particularly enzyme preparations containing organic sulfhydryl compounds for activation, are stabilized by means of a stabilizing agent comprising oxypolygelatine, especially oxypolygelatine having an average molecular weight of from 10,000 to 50,000.

  • Patent number: 4081329
Abstract: Carrier-bound macromolecular compounds, especially bioactive macromolecular compounds, are produced by reacting a macromolecular compound A with a coupling compound B containing at least one reactive function capable of coupling with compound A and at least one further reactive function capable of polymerization, adding to the resulting coupled reaction product AB an unswollen molecular sieve material having cross-linking sufficient to exclude penetration by compound A, and polymerizing the polymerizable group of the coupled product AB in the molecular sieve material to form a polymer body in the molecular sieve material and fix compound A on the surface of the molecular sieve material. Compound A can be, e.g., an enzyme, antibody or hormone, and coupling compound B typically contains, as the coupable function, an alkylation or acylation group such as oxirane, ethyleneimine, halide, acid halide, azide or anhydride groups, and, as the polymerizable function, a carbon-carbon or carbon-oxygen double bond.

  • Patent number: 4066508
Abstract: Triglycerides are determined by enzymatic saponification with lipase in a buffer in the presence of a carboxylesterase and an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal (10-15 carbon atom) alkyl sulfate, in the additional presence of a compound of the general formula RO(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2).sub.n H, in which R is alkyl or alkenyl containing 14 to 20 carbon atoms and n is a number of from 7 to 20; this determination prevents turbidity and does not disadvantageously influence enzyme activity.
