  • Patent number: 5051660
Abstract: A circuit arrangement is suggested for the operation of a gas-discharge lamp on a direct-current source, particularly in a motor vehicle. In order to feed the gas-discharge lamp (36) with constant power for the purpose of achieving a uniform brightness of the lamp, a push-pull inverter circuit is provided with an output power regulator (11), two transistors (12, 13) and a transformer (22) which carries out an inversion of the available fluctuating direct voltage of a direct-current source (18) into an alternating voltage of suitable level and frequency. The inverter (11, 12, 13) receives, at its control inputs, control signals which are derived from the lamp voltage (U) and the lamp current (I) for supplying the gas-discharge lamp (36) with substantially constant power in continuous operation.

  • Patent number: 4816979
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for regulating the high-voltage supply of an electrostatic filter for internal combustion motors whose high-voltage output stage (2) is controlled by a pulse-width modulator (3). The high-voltage output stage (2) contains a diode blocking oscillator which gives off a output voltage (U.sub.A) of several kV on the output side. The pulse-duty factor of the output voltage (U.sub.A) is changed as a function of the output current or the output voltage and while taking into account a maximum allowable power. The soot filter (1) can be constantly operated in an optimum operating range in this manner.

  • Patent number: 4805105
Abstract: A brake control system has a controller (52, 53, 54) including hysteresis. To prevent over-shoot of control operation if a comparison between actual braking pressure (P.sub.act) and commanded pressure (P.sub.com) is applied to control valves which, for example, operate pneumatically, so that the brakes will not instantaneously respond, a difference pressure threshold (.DELTA.P.sub.G) is determined and, when the difference pressure level is passed by the difference pressure signal, the valves are controlled to operate in pulse operation, in which each pressure pulse (T.sub.E) is followed by a quieting or pressure-OFF time (T.sub.BER). The pulse sequence and the timing of pulses and pulse gaps is controllable in accordance with pressure levels, operating parameters, pressure difference levels and the like.

  • Patent number: 4219000
Abstract: A control device for internal combustion engines serves to maintain selectable speeds at a constant value. The control device comprises an actual value-desired value comparison stage for the speed, at least one integrator, as well as storage capacity for the integrator value. The engine has a speed device and within a selectable speed range of the engine, the speed device operates in accordance with its function. Outside of the selected speed range, particularly at higher speeds, the integrator serves as a storage device so that when the speed again enters the control speed range, the stored value serves as a starting point for the renewed control operation. In this way, a rapid control action is insured upon each re-entry into the control range, besides providing an exact control operation within the range.

  • Patent number: 3944014
Abstract: In a motor vehicle, the presence of laterally acting external forces is detected by an appropriate sensing device. The first time derivative of the sensed signal is used to initiate steering gear deflection to counteract the external deflecting forces.
