  • Patent number: 8465406
Abstract: A screw centrifuge including a drum having a rotor, the drum having two axial ends and a horizontal axis of rotation, and a screw arranged in the drum and configured to rotate relative to the drum at a speed different from a rotation speed of the drum. Also included is a bearing device located at each axial end of the drum and configured to bear the drum. Each bearing device includes a housing and a pair of cantilevers extending in opposite directions away from the housing. Further included is a pair of spring elements associated with each bearing device and configured for sprung support of the drum. Each spring is arranged between one of the cantilevers and a frame, the spring elements being located at each axial end of the drum.

A screw is arranged in the drum and configured to rotate relative to the drum at a speed different from a rotation speed of the drum. A bearing device is located at each axial end of the drum and is configured to bear the drum. A plurality of spring elements are configured for sprung support of the drum on a frame and at least one of the plurality of spring elements is located at each axial end of the drum.

  • Patent number: 6749552
Abstract: A screw-type solid bowl centrifuge for centrifuging material which has a tendency to foam. The centrifuge includes a centrifugal drum having discharge ports and a rotatable bowl jacket with a screw that rotates relative to the bowl jacket. Also included is a feed section having a central pipe arranged concentrically about the rotation axis of a drum for feeding the material to be centrifuged through a distributor into a centrifuge chamber between the screw and the bowl jacket. The feed section is an hermitical, closed system. Further included is a baffle plate arrangement that prevents foam or certain particles from escaping from one of the discharge ports.

  • Patent number: 5593377
Abstract: In a solid-jacket centrifuge drum for separating out a liquid phase, a weir is rotatable with the drum around an axis, is disposed in a path of the separated out liquid phase and has at least one channel for the separated out liquid phase. A choke plate regulates flow through the at least one channel in the weir and thereby the level of liquid inside the drum. The choke plate is stationary relative to the rotation of the weir and the drum and is axially displaceable relative to the weir to form a gap therebetween for the separated out liquid phase. The gap has a distance which is varied with the axial displacement of the choke plate.

  • Patent number: 4784633
Abstract: A centrifuge drum is provided with a seal consisting of a narrow gap between the drum and centrifuge housing. The seal is located between the actual housing and the solids catch chamber. There is a pressure-compensation space at the drum in the vicinity of the seal. The exchange of air that occurs at the seal in a centrifuge without the compensation space between the solids catch chamber and the housing in accordance with the invention and that leads to deposits of solids in the housing is accordingly displaced into the compensation space.
