  • Patent number: 5524746
Abstract: An apparatus for sorting particles of a bulk material moving on a transport ribbon (38) comprises an electro optical monitoring unit (101) above transport ribbon (38) for detecting the particles to be sorted out. Jet nozzles (45, 46) are controlled by a signal emitted by this electro optical monitoring unit (40), the jet nozzles being provided at the side opposite the bulk material of transport ribbon (38), which consists of an air permeable material. By means of the gas jet passing through transport ribbon (38), the particles to be sorted out are lifted off from the transport ribbon and are thrown into storage containers (47, 48).The bulk material is passed through a gap between rollers or grinding elements to provide flake-shaped particles which are then observed to provide first and second measurements which are subtracted from each other. A vibrating conveyor 87 with feeding channels 87.1 separate particles for disposition upon a ribbon 538 with the aid of a jet nozzle n.

  • Patent number: 5407138
Abstract: The fineness of bulk material, particularly of material to be ground, is determined by means of a flow measurement (DIN 66126) and by using a calibration correlation between medium particle size and permeability of the sample. The medium fineness of a continuous flow of bulk material determined in such a way at predetermined intervals of time may be used for adjusting roll mill parameters. In the same way, it is possible to calculate the bulk density, so that a compacting procedure subsequently to a milling procedure can be adjusted accordingly.

  • Patent number: 5031845
Abstract: A device for grinding and separating grains, in particular for grinding malt, consisting of at least two roll packages (4, 5, 6) in the form of, with respect to their forces, self-contained units arranged vertically above each other on load-bearing columns (2) of a machine housing (3), and of a pair of screen units (7, 8) oscillating above the lowermost roll package (6) in opposite direction in a horizontal plane and thus with little vibration with respect to the overall device. The screen units are articulated on the machine housing (3) by relatively short levers (27', 29, 31', 33) into which the drive forces for the vibratory equipment are introduced from the center of the machine in such a manner that all rotating parts of the drive (9) are located outside the dusty screen space.

  • Patent number: 4194445
Abstract: A grain husker has two decorticating rollers which are accommodated in a housing, one of the rollers being rotatable about a stationary axis, while the other roller is mounted on a carrier which, in turn, is mounted on the housing for pivoting relative thereto in such a manner that the movable roller moves with the carrier closer and farther away from the stationary axis of the first-mentioned roller. A drive for the rollers includes a motor, a driving pulley mounted on the output shaft of the motor, and idler pulley and a driven pulley of the movable roller, all of these components being also mounted on the carrier for displacement therewith, the drive further including a driven pulley of the stationarily mounted roller and an endless element which is trained about all of the above-mentioned pulleys.
